"What? Why not?" Steven groans into his cell phone as he laid on the couch. I chuckled as I polished my bow, making sure the string wasn't in need of any repair.

"I told you Steven, I can't hang out today, I have tennis practice." Connie said. Steven had her on speaker phone- he was so looking forward to hanging out with her.  "And then mom wants to go out on a family dinner- but she said I could hang out with you all day tomorrow! And I could come every day since it's summer vacation." Connie said, I could hear the smile on her lips.

"What's summer vacation?" Steven asked as he slowly began to slide off the couch. I hummed, realizing that it was indeed closer to summer and school was out.

"You know when school lets out for the summer." Connie answered confused.

"I've never been to this- how do you say? School." Steven said, narrowing his eyes at the word. I sighed, Dad and the gems weren't too worried about Steven's education, since they thought learning gem history and tech was more important. Let's be honest- Dad isn't the brightest when it comes to education, I was glad I had gotten a somewhat education by Pearl when I joined the family.

"It's this place filled with desks and they teach you different subjects like; math, history, science and stuff." Connie explained.  Steven only nods and looks over to me, an idea shining in his brown eyes. I sighed again and got up to get Pearl, already knowing what he was thinking.

I don't know how, but Pearl had gotten everything for a normal class. A black board, desk, a world map, and books on basic math and history. All piled up in the middle of our living room.

"Alright, that looks about everything." Steven said, admiring the pile of new objects.

"So where do we begin in this school?" Pearl asked, Steven raised a brow and looked over to me.

"Did you go to school, (Y/n)?" He asked.

"No, Pearl taught me basic math and what goes on in the world. Like how the economy works and which president was actually good and stuff." I said. Pearl beamed with pride when given the credit.

"So you'll teach me Pearl?" Steven asked.

"Steven, of course I'll teach you!" Pearl beams, she jumps from her seat and stretches out her legs- reaching over her gem as it glows and out pops a mirror, it gently floats in the air between us. It was silver with a blue gem on the back- but it was cracked. "We found this gem powered mirror at the galaxy worp. it can display any moment of gem history that it's witness." Pearl explained, the mirror slowly lands in Steven's hands. Looking at it he gasps.

"We must be very important to gem history." Steven said as he pulled a somewhat serious face I chuckled next to him, Pearl rolled her eyes and stood behind us.

"It's not even on." She said, "Show us the galaxy worp." She said, but it didn't show anything. Once again she repeated her command but it still did nothing.

"Maybe it's broken?" I suggested.
"It is in ruff shape." Pear agreed.

"Seems fine to me." Steven said, posing into the mirror.

"Looks like that's the end of our school." Pearl said, walking over to the pile of miss matched objects. Steven freezes and begins to shake and gasp.

"So? School's out?" Steven asked with a bounce to his step.

"Yes, Steven there's many ways to say the same thing." Pearl waves him off and he cheers with joy. Running out of the house with the mirror in his hands. "Hm, the asymmetry of this pile is really starting to bother me." Pearl said glaring at the pile of school objects.
