Steven Universe Reader Insert (Rewrite)

The Hub

The next few weeks once again were filled with weird events.

Us trying to find a fusion called Malachite that lives somewhere in the ocean. When I asked who that was, I was told that it was Lapis and a gem named Jasper who came to earth along with Peridot. It was during my coma state, they were kidnapped and in space in a gem ship. That's where Steven learned about Ruby and Sapphire. They were able to crash land the ship on the shore of beach city and that's when Lapis fused with Jasper. It was her way of protecting Steven and I.

We didn't have much luck, but due to a series of dreams Steven had, he was told by Lapis that she could handle Jasper and to not find them. It was hard to do, but we listened to her and I hoped in the future we would be able to help her.

Black had gone to his home plant, after hooking up some kind warp extension, he was able to warp back home. Saying that if he didn't inform his brothers about his whereabouts they would come to earth. We were grateful for his help and he was welcomed back anytime. Truth be told I was gonna miss him, but I was glad to know I had some kind way to get to him and he had a way back here.

The next big thing happened after a few days from the whole Malachite thing. All started with Steven, Amethyst, and I watching his favorite show, the crying breakfast friends.

Crying Pear accidentally dropped his ice cream and he and Sad Spoon started crying.

"I don't get this cartoon, man, why don't they just eat that ice cream off the floor? They don't have to cry about it." Amethyst asked, annoyed at the wasted food. Just as Crying Pear continues to cry- the T.V. signal suddenly glitches.

"Aw, not again. It was doing this yesterday too." Steven sighed.

"Hang on, I got it." Amethyst said as she was standing up. I held out my hand for her to stop.

"If you're planning on kicking the T.V.- it's not gonna work." I said standing up and walking over to the T.V, checking the back to see if any wires were loose, frowned when I saw nothing. However, the T.V started shaking and rumbling to everyone's surprise.

"It's never done that before." Steven said, worried it meant break. A flickering video of Peridot speaking gibberish then appears, before stabilizing and her dialogue becoming audible.

"This is Peridot transmitting on all frequencies from abandoned crystal system colony planet Earth, to Yellow Diamond. My mission has been compromised, my escort and informant-" She raises two fingers to indicate numbers. "-are gone and I am now stranded!" She gets cut off again only to return for a desperate yell. "Please send help!"

Garnet and Pearl had walked in at some point and saw what was displayed on the screen. Steven's phone rings and he answers, nodding and mumbling out an 'okay', he hangs up and tells us that Connie had seen it too.

"That means everyone in Beach city probably saw it." I said, Pearl nods.

"But where could Peridot be broadcasting a signal that strong?" Pearl asked, nothing on earth would be able to cast her message onto so many TV's.

We all gathered at the Communication Hub, however the only way to get there was to ride on Lion. The gems rode on his back and Steven and I jumped into his mane. Lucky, I was now able to enter his mane and still be able to breath. I did see Steven turning red going to blue. Right as we got there, Lion collapsed to the ground due to the gems' weight. Steven pops out of Lion's mane gasping for air and I follow behind him.

"Lion, are you okay?" I asked as Steven and I petted him on the head. He grunts to let us know he was alright.

"It's as I feared." Garnet said as she walked towards the center of the Hub, crudely reconstructed back together, glowing and shooting a beam of light towards the sky. Crystal pillars stood strong in the sand.
