Things went back to being somewhat normal again. After Amethyst went through her whole reforming episode, not taking her time causing her body to become deformed and her and Garnet having a little fight, she finally took it seriously and took her time. A whole five minutes before returning, her new form wasn't that different but she seemed happy and proud of herself.

Pearl and I sat in her room in the temple, the sound of the running water filled the air between us as we sat across from each other. The clean gem kept her eyes on me as I looked down at the continuing running water- it seemed never ending, deep in thought and trying to form questions to ask about Rose aka Pink.

"I'm glad to have you back home.We all are." Pearl spoke, breaking the silence that covered us in a thick blanket. A heavy weight on our shoulders.

"Who are the Minerals?" I asked. I didn't need to look up to see how tense she had gotten from that one question. I kept my arms and legs crossed, not meeting her eyes until she spoke.

"W-who?" Pearl stuttered. My eyes meeting hers', pale whites widen in shock and nerves. I took a deep breath and straightened my back, keeping my eyes on hers and trying not to get too mad.

"Don't play dumb." I said.

"How do you know... about them?" She asked.

"Pearl-" I sighed.

"Answer me!" She shouted, her whole body becoming tense.

"No! You haven't answered me!" I said, standing up and I paced back and forth in front of her. Frustrated with the secret keeping. "You and Garnet won't tell me or Steven anything! We're supposed to fight our mothers' battles that she left unfinished- we're supposed to be a team!" I shouted. "How can we be a team if I don't know what's going on out there?" I asked, pointing to the outside of this temple, to the endless sky that hovers above us everyday. Pearl let out a shaky sigh and continued to stay in her place on the floor.

"You're right... We were just trying to protect you and Steven." Pearl asked. I let out a breath through my nose and took a seat next to her, keeping a distance of a few feet. "The minerals are another race of organic life forms like us gems. You could say they're our opposites. Their leaders are called The Four Obsidians; Rainbow, Green, Red, and Black." Pearl said, displaying an image hollow from her gem. Four tall men stood before us, one I already knew.

"Thousands of years ago when they first began forming, they worked with the Diamonds to create a perfect world. However, the Diamonds wanted to expand our kind to other plants. The Minerals were happy with just their simple galaxy, they saw no need. So instead of stopping the Diamonds they let them be, but White Diamond wanted their galaxy as well." Pearl explained. Her hollow image faded away.

"What happened next?" I asked, Pearl sighed and turned her whole body towards me.

"I... don't know." Pearl said, almost ashamed of her lack of knowledge. "Gem history only explains that part, saying that White was successful with winning the Mineral's galaxy- claiming it as her own. After that, they're never mentioned again." Pearl explained. I nodded and thought back to what Black had told me before leaving the island.

"That pearl you have should know about my kind, ask her."

He, for some reason, refused to tell me anything about his family or what he was. Only saying he was the Knight of Minerals once in my dreams. I shuffle closer to the gem that raised me, wrapping my arms around her and bringing her into a hug. One I didn't know I needed myself. She lets out a sob and hugs me in return.
