Starstruck- Shane Hawkins x fem/Oc

Chapter 15

It had been a couple of hours since we took the cakes out of the oven so I figured they'd be cool enough to decorate so I grabbed Shane's hand and dragged him downstairs. I got to work grabbing the ingredient's and equipment that I needed and laid them out on the bench.

"What do you want me to do?" Shane asked from behind the bench

"Could you soften the butter for me?" I replied

"Yep," 

I gave him the right measurements for the butter and placed it in a glass container handing it to him to put in the microwave, I then measured out the icing sugar and placed it on the bench. Once I decided that the butter was soft enough Shane passed it to me and I placed it into a metal bowl and adding in a small part of the icing sugar before beating it it in with an electric beater. I continued to add the icing sugar and a few drops of food black coloring until it was the right color and texture. 

"Okay, that should be good," I said unplugging the beater and putting the attachments in the sink 

"So can we decorate now?" Shane asked impatiently

"If you want you can put an even layer of icing on the cake while I make icing so that I can draw on it," I replied

"Okay!" 

I grabbed more icing sugar and some boiling water slowly mixing the two and adding flavoring until it was firm enough for me to draw with but soft enough be able to go through the piping bag.  I looked back and there was an even layer of black frosting on the cake. It didn't actually look bad. 

"Does it look okay?" He asked stepping away from it

I didn't respond I just kissed him with a small smile.

"I'm going to take that as a yes," He smiled back

I quickly got to work on drawing the outlines on the top of the cake looking at my phone for the reference and making sure not to fuck up the bottom layer of icing. After that was done I waited for it to dry partially before doing in with the next color. The process continued until I was finished with the entire drawing, touching up any small mistakes that I could until it looked alright. 

"Alright I think I'm finished," I sighed clapping my hands together

"Holy fuck," Shane exclaimed

"What?" 

"That's so fucking good what the hell," He stared in awe at the cake

"Meh I could've done better if I had more time," I shrugged

"I don't know how you do it baby," He sighed looking at me 

"Neither but how about we continue this later and clean up this mess first?" I gestured to the counter

"Yes ma'am!" He saluted 

I laughed and started to grab the bowls, rinsing them out and placing them into the dishwasher. He started grabbing dishes and rinsed them off placing them into the dishwasher as well. I heard the front door open and close signifying that dad was home as I could hear my mom call out to him.

"Hey honey!" I heard distantly 

"Hi baby," He said calmly

I rushed to get everything cleaned up before he walked in. Once in was all tidy I set the cake into a much less used area and let it sit.

"Hey kiddos," Dave said

"Hi Dad," 

"What have you two been up to?" 

"Just some baking and crafting," I responded

He looked over at the cake next to me and his eyes widened.

"Holy shit Eves," 

"What?" This was getting a little repetitive

"That's fucking amazing," He said inspecting it 

"Well I wanted to do something nice for your birthday and I figured this was it," 

"Do you like it?" I continued

"Like it? I Fucking love it E, you are so talented." 

He pulled me into a big hug, one would say it was bone crushing but as a Grohl you get used to it.

"Thank you Evelyn," He said quietly 

"And you too Shane," He smiled

"You're welcome." We replied in sync 

We talked for a little longer until he had to work again so Shane and I went upstairs to my room.

"I think he liked it," I said

"No he hated it obviously," Shane replied sarcastically

"Of cause he loved it you are literally so talented," he continued

"God I can't wait until tomorrow," 

"Me too baby, me too."
