Helpless ( Hannibal and Will's daughter )

Chapter 12 : Bloodhound

2 months later - 

" I will bring back takeout . Don't tell Hann " ; Will promised Y/N . 

" Okay " ; she said happily . 

Will kissed her forehead before going to work . This was her first time staying home alone . Hannibal was going to be back an hour later though . Y/N was clean and sober for 2 months and Will and Hannibal couldn't be more proud and happier . 

Y/N skipped around the house with Winston following her around . Winston was the most protective of her . The other dogs just kinda liked her being around but they never overcrowded her . Winston however , was attached to Y/N . 

Y/N stopped in front of the basement door and tried to open it . It was the only part of the house that she had not explored yet . Winston quickly tugged on the sleeves on her arms to stop her from entering . 

" What Winston ? " ; she asked . 

He just kept tugging and eventually Y/N gave in and walked back to her room with him . She sat on the bed with her book and started reading it . Hannibal had ordered her some more books for reading and writing practice . Winston jumped on the bed beside her and laid his head on her lap . She scratched him behind his ear . 

After a few minutes she heard banging coming from downstairs.  Someone was threatening to break open the front door . Winston immediately ran downstairs but Y/N hid in her closet , scared . She called Will first but he did not pick up so she then called Hannibal .

" Y/N ? Is something wrong ? Are you feeling like you will have a seizure ? " ; Hannibal asked .

" Someone's downstairs " ; she whispered .

" Where are you sweetheart ? "

" In my closet , hiding "

Before Hannibal could say anything else ,they both heard her door open with a loud noise .

" Won't you come see me ? " ; the man taunted her .

This was the same man who had read the article and was now hellbent on killing Y/N .

Y/N tried to breathe slowly to not give away her hiding spot but the man violently opened her closet door .

" Found you " ; he said maniacally .

Y/N screamed as the man tried to grab her but the other dogs jumped on him and she was able to escape .

She ran downstairs and into the kitchen and picked one of Hannibal's cooking knives .

" What ? Are you going to kill me like your mother killed my family ? " ; the man asked coming into the kitchen .

" I don't know you " ; she cried , the knife shaking .

The man came forwards slowly and Y/N felt herself freeze .

But when the man raised his gun at her she stabbed him , right in the heart .

Hannibal entered the house just seconds later.

" I didn't mean to " ; Y/N ran into his arms and sobbed .

" Shhh shhh , its okay darling " ; he shushed her .

" Go into our bedroom and stay there . Lock the door and then call Will  " ; he instructed her .

Y/N ran up the stairs and locked the door to the couple's bedroom and then called Will . 

" Hey Y/n/n , I am sorry I didn't pick up before . I was teaching " ; he said happily . 

" Will " ; she cried . " Hannibal asked to call you . There was a man in the house , he attacked me ! " 

" I am coming home right now " ; he said . 

She cut the call and waited while staring at her hands . There were spots of the man's blood on her hands . The door opened after a set of keys jingling were heard . 

" Y/n/n , darling ? " ; Hannibal asked cautiously . 

She looked at him with teary eyes . 

" Come on darling , let's go wash your hands " ; he said gently . 

Y/N climbed off the bed and went to the bathroom in the hallway with Hannibal . 

He helped her wash her shaking hands and wiped them clean of the colour and smell of blood . 

" Do not tell Will that you killed him , okay ? 

" I told him that  a man attacked me " 

" Good . Do not mention that you picked up the knife and stabbed him . I know it was self-defense but do not mention it to anybody , okay ? " 

" Okay " 

" I will tell him that I came in and stabbed the man " 

" Why take the blame ? " 

" Because it wasn't your fault and you didn't mean to . I am guessing we have to move now . You have been attacked twice in this house " 

" I would like that "
