This agonizing pain makes my heart lurch back and forth,
I try in vain to let out a chocked sob,
In the hope that it would serve as a release.
Had I hurt less before, now my grief overflows;
Is the pain mine, or is it theirs?
Is empathy a curse or a blessing?
Their unceasing tears, the sound of their wails;
They overwhelm me; they make my heart clench.
Their grief soaks my skin, their loss lacerates me.
And mine? I loved him too.
