The SmackDown Women's Champion Sphinx is set to have her first championship defense since her big win at WrestleMania. She will be defending against Zelina Vega at Backlash on May 6.
On the April 21 episode of SmackDown, Vega approached Adam Pearce and gave a pretty flawless reason as to why she should challenge Sphinx.
Vega is the only Puerto Rican female on the roster it would only make sense for her to face Sphinx in Puerto Rico.
Pearce said he would check with upper management and Sphinx herself and the match was made official later in the show.
