I patted my mom's back awkwardly as she continued to cry a river on my shoulder.

After the wedding got over, it was time for the Vidai rasm.

And even though I found it a bit unnecessary for my mom to cry on the bride's sending off because I have been practically living away from her for the last six years, so technically I had already been kind of sent off? But I had inherited her crybaby gene, so I was in no position to judge her emotional condition.

But where I had the expertise to do all my required crying in private, my mom clearly lacked that skill. But as I said, I am no one to judge.

Why can't my tears come when I want them to? I blinked my heavy mascara-laden lashes in the hope that it would make me cry but the attempt was futile.

"I am going to miss you much," She cupped my cheeks lovingly and pressed a kiss on my forehead. And at that moment I felt like the luckiest child to have such caring parents even if they interrupted in my life a lot more than I liked.

Seeing her eyes shine with tears, I teared up a bit too.

I was never good with words so I kept my mouth shut as I wiped the few tears that had escaped my eyes and hugged her and Papa.

After a lot more crying on my mom's side, finally, Aryan and I settled inside his car.

I sighed, adjusting my lehenga and straitening my dishevelled jewellery.

When the driver started driving, I closed my eyes and pressed my head against the window of the car.

"How far is your place?"I asked.

"Half an hour," Aryan replied, his voice overpowered by the keyboard texting sound on his phone.

"Please silent your phone."

He might have silenced his phone because I didn't hear anything for the next few minutes.

He said after a few moments of silence, "My mom texted to tell me that the remaining after-marriage rituals will be carried out once we reach home."

"There are more rituals left!?"

I nearly yelled, my eyes wildly staring at him like a feral animal.

"Apparently yes. A bunch full of them." He nodded.

I groaned, bashing my head repeatedly against the seat.

"I think I am about to go crazy."

"You are already halfway there." He murmured, looking outside the window.

"Thank you for your kind words," I said sarcastically.

"The pleasure is all mine. By the way, I wanted to ask you something since the wedding started," He looked at me with curious eyes.
