They both left out the back of the cafeteria door and into their cars

"Do you even know where it is?" Maxi asks, wondering if she knows this town as well as he did

"Yeah it's on the strip with the abandoned church, just follow me," Jamiie says as she gets into her truck and puts on her seat belt. She adjusted her mirror, making sure to see behind her, and started her engine.

She drove out the school parking lot and into the street checking every now and again that he was behind her.

Finally, after a long five minutes, she sees the abandoned church and the little shop right next to it, she pulls into the side and Maxie pulls in right behind her. As she got out she could hear Maxie's voice

"Do you think she's real?" Maxie asks looking at the shop, it was a shop painted an off-white color and you could see into the big windows all the things she had set up

"Let's hope she is," Jamiie says, worried a bit. But she walks in pushing the feeling aside and as soon as she does a small bell from the door alerts the worker of a customer

"And if she's not?"

"Well then I guess we return to the book for answers"

"Oh come in, come in," a girl says, She has mysterious, angular, light brown eyes, thin eyebrows, and a turned-up nose.

She wears pale blush, pastel eyeliner, complimentary lipstick and a complimentary foundation for highlights. She has slanted shoulders, long arms, bony hips, a long neck, and a narrow torso with defined chest muscles. Her name tag said "Zoe Eddy"

"Do you know something about the exile book?" Maxie said in a rush, and the woman's pleasant demeanor dropped into a cold stare

"Wow way to start a conversation," Jamiie said as she glared at the side of Maxie's head

"No, I have no idea what that is" Zoe replied sharply and began turning around to walk back

"Please, we'll pay you" Jamiie offered, the woman turned back around again

"I don't even know what it is," She says walking back to her table and sitting back down with a big crystal ball sitting in the middle with strangely colored crystal covering the sides.

"Wait if you don't, do you know someone who does?" Maxie says

"yeah the lady of the woods, she'll answer any question you have and can help, that is if you can make it to her alive"

"where is she?" Jamiie asks

"Rayleem Grove, now time for payment" Zoe responds, this makes Maxie seem visibly uncomfortable. His eyes shifted to the floor not liking the response to the question

"How much?"

"Tell me how you found it," She says, her arms crossed and her face shows no hint of amusement

"Found what?" Jamiie asks, the woman scoffs and rolls her eyes. She uncrossed her legs and stood up

"The book, the exile book!" Zoe yells,

"It was on a site for forgotten and unclaimed books" Maxie responds

"Show me"

"Oh well you kind of-" Maxie begins but she cuts him off

"No not here, we're going to my workplace," she says and walks to the back of the shop going past the front where the usual display of crystal balls and cards lay on a table with a sign marked "out of service" on a bathroom. They both share a glance but decide to walk with her.

They walked into a hall that seemed to have cement walls and the temperature took a dramatic turn.

It made Jamiie realize the outside air was nothing like it and she put her arms around her chest in an attempt to stay walking as her eyes shifted towards Maxi she could have sworn that she saw his breath in the air as if he was smoking.

It felt like jumping into an ice-cold pool or opening an oven at the highest temperature into a cold house. But this was truly unsettling; it was like they stepped into something that wasn't supposed to exist.

"What is this?" Jamiie thought to herself as she turned her head in each possible direction.

It was like she was leading them into a cold dark tunnel. Or walking into an abandoned subway. Jamiie wasn't even sure where the source of light was coming from. Jamiie turned around towards the door to see it look as if it was fifty feet back even though they only took a couple of steps. She took a deep breath trying to comprehend what she just saw.

She looked up to see a never-ending ceiling and continued walking behind the woman who seemed to know this place backward and forward like her palm. She walked further and further to the back at one point it felt like they had been walking forever. Both of their feet hurt and they both felt tired as if they had been walking for miles on end.
