Like I said, Don't Track Me Down

Three knocks on the door was all I needed to be let in. Opening the door, I saw him at his desk. The Student Council treasurer, Kaede Manyuda. He looked over his computer at me in slight surprise, but it was soon masked up when he looked back down at his computer. "Is there something you needed?" He asked. I looked around while walking to his desk, standing tall. "I had a simple question for the council. It's about the life plans that was just assigned to Mary and Yumeko," I inquired. The tapping on his laptop stopped with a quiet annoyed huffed. He pushed his glasses up, letting me see his glare, "You're not a housepet or member of the council, so it's none of your concern. I'm sure if you really wanted to know more, you would've just asked the president." "Sure, but some of it has to do with money. Runa was laughing about Yumeko having to marry some politician, so it has to involve to some degree. That's where you come in." We stared at each other in silence battle; mine being more unpredictable and emotional blank compared to his either annoyance or anger from me getting too close.

"I am curious though, what piece am I on your chessboard? Or am I a number in your equation awaiting to get changed around after this conversation?" I looked him in the eyes. With a stern face and straight back, he growled back at me, "You are nothing to me. Not even as a housepet do you rank." I shook my head softly, walking around the desk as we kept our eye contact locked. "The last thing you want to do is lie, Kaede. You know that well," I stated, passionless. "Right," He scoffed. "Don't want to end up like your other victims? From your words and actions, you seem to think you're some kind of god around here. Is that right?" While he kept chatting, I scanned him even more. The way he sits, the ways his desk is arranged, the way is tie was fastened around his neck...everything was professional about him, yet felt so fragile at the same time. "Kaede?" His sound stopped. "Of course, I looked into your background, so I know of the person you replaced as well as your past and family matters. Your father seems to be a serious man, but soon tempted with...." Looking over at him once more, I sighed. Pulling his chair close me and bending down, I asked softly, "What I'm trying to ask now is....Are you trying to take over the school?"

I didn't ask my question properly, but it was still answered either way as Yumeko showed it to Ryota and I after he was trying to 'gift' a million yen in return of helping him. He glanced over at me, seeing my lifeless eyes placed onto the book. Taking the book into his hands, he opened it gently to see the contents of it's insides. A list of events supposed to happen by the council's ruling. A person to marry, number of children to have, everything down to a T. We all had different reactions to it; Ryota started to shake in confusion and fear for Yumeko, she started to smile and chuckle to herself reading the pages, and I...I....

"Marriage? Children? What kind of sick joke is this?" He choked. "This school," Yumeko sighed. "It's certainly never boring, is it?" Ryota's gaze shot back up at her, and turned over to me as I pulled the book from his hands. Reading over each word again, it made me...feel something...something I can't even explain. "Disgusting," I sneered quietly behind the mask. My face stayed neutral and plain, like always, but my tone picked up a hint of rage. I continued, "Absolutely vile. When they can't pay in money, they pay in their lives. Sickens me to my very core, my being." As I couldn't tear my eyes away from the page, I still felt Ryota's  panicked stare on me. Shutting it close, he shuttered. "Yumeko, this is a massive problem," He tried warning her. "If the student council says they'll do it, they'll do it."

"That's the fun part, Ryota. In her eyes anyway," I answered for her. She smiled at me, hugging me tightly, "Exactly! The uncertainty and apprehension, making the halls twist completely. You get me, Michi!~" I patted her shoulder a few times, letting her do what she wanted until she got tired of it. "Hey, you're that Yumeko girl, huh?" A husky but honeyed voice called her out behind us. Turning around, it was a group of guys. The back two didn't look that interesting, but it was the center one that looked smug. He was tall with tan skin, some sort of a buzz cut. He smirked, "Word is, that you're a house pet now. How about you come with me?" Ryota sweated, "Just what do you want with her, Jun?" Jun...Jun...I read over him a few times, never really paid attention to the name. Yumeko smiled, "Sure. I can- uh?" I quickly grabbed onto her wrist, stepping in front of her. My voice rolled out flat, "We were having a important conversation. If you would excuse me." "And you're that Michi chick too. Two in one, too bad you're not a house pet along with her. You can come too if you're so worried"
