I have studied the Momobami clan for...how don't know how long. How I feel about them is irrelevant, but when getting who they named livestock...it reminded me of something. Rei Batsubami, stripped of her family name over conflict involving the family years ago. Each generation made to suffer. Then when someone finally reached out to her, their hands are cut. A person to look forward to, someone to love...tainted and broken. The emptiness soon replaced by something more powerful, something only some can control. A fiery sense of vengeance.
"I, Rei Batsubami, am going to win this election. And furthermore, I will stand at the top of Hyakkaou Academy and the Momobami clan," she announced loudly. Everyone was shocked seeing Rei so lively and determined. Ryota didn't want to believe it, but Midari reminded them these are the same people who raised Kirari. Ririka stayed silent, I didn't except her to say much anyway. Yumeko was happy enough with Rei's true face, and wanted to keep the auction going. With a scowl on her face, Rei reluctantly obliged.
Ibara jumped up as I walked back beside him, the rest looking distraught and stressed. He shouted, "Wait. So this means....Terano has nothing to do with this gamble, then? Is that accurate?" I put a hand on his shoulder, calming him slightly, "Terano was the one to bring her here in the first place. She knows something like this would happen, or course, but didn't have that much of a hand in it." He grunted, stomping like an anger child. Rin nodded, "We became too accustomed to having it as a personal slave to the clan. That was our weak point, but you knew this already didn't you, Michi?" He looked over at me, and I kept my eyes forward. I replied, "I have spoken with her multiple times over the time of the election. It started to fall more into place when Yumeko became the center of attention, which isn't surprising for this place. After all, she does look a lot like her sister."
Miri wasn't having any of it, gripping the armrest of her seat tightly, "If you knew this all for a while, why not tell us? If you truly wanted to be one of us, that would've bought you in a bit more then keeping it to yourself." "You truly don't listen to a word I say," I shook my head, looking at her. "I said I wanted to be the head of the clan, not part of it. If I have to tell you of this, then you people aren't as good as it seems. Especially with something so simple as this." She grunted, along with Rin watching my moves closely. The auction went to continue, but Yuriko wanted to explain where the votes came from. "As far as I can remember, you never even once appeared in the rankings, did you?" Yuriko bellowed. Inaho debunked it easily, noting that the rankings aren't updated in real time. I could tell that a while ago from my own rank, but apparently a large number of votes were transferred yesterday to Rei. The girls.
"What is she on about, Runa?" Miroslava asked. Runa laughed, "It was authorized, of course. The bet was on whether Rei could become student council president using all the votes that were collected. Naturally, all the participants entrusted their votes to Rei in order to ensure a win. And to satisfy the terms and conditions of the gamble, Rei used those votes to compete in an election match." Miroslava hummed, "Like a real election." Some of the them didn't take this as well as Mira, though. Miyo furrowed her eyebrows, "But when did she manage to set this all up?" I answered, "Just think about it. What's one change that's been more apparent recently since you've arrived here?" "The girls have been acting strangely agitated. Particularly students on the bottom rungs of the academy ladder." I nodded, "While you all played, she conversed. I witnessed it easily, she has a words with words around people here."
"Now, let us begin!" Rei announced loudly. "The next lot is up with one vote!" "I don't fucking think so!" Ibara barked. "This auction ends right now!" As he tried to march to the exit, Rin and I caught his arm. As he told him to calm down we looked at each other, he was glaring at me and I was kept a straight faced expression. Erimi grabbed the tablet, seeing that if they pulled now they would lose 10 votes which wasn't much to them. She stated, "But even if we back out, the auction will still keep going, and if Rei ends up getting all the votes from Yumeko and everyone else..." "That makes the election infinitely harder for us." They were trapped, so the better option now was playing. I knew there was more to Rei.
