everybody knows that I am a good girl,
officer.-Lana del Rey
(Side note, Connor is like.. Lana del Rey coded. I swear. And Kali Uchis. Anywho.)
Y/Ns POV-
Sitting in my chair, my feet resting on top of my desk, I hear the clinking of all the typing men around me. Today is a slow day in the office, so me and Connor sit casually talking. He leans against my desk, leaning down slightly so we can communicate better due to the 3 foot tall chair and over 6 foot tall robot difference.
We talk about regular things, the case, my boring life outside of work, but he suddenly pops out with a weird question,
„Y/N, have you ever been in love before?"The question startles me, and I quickly regain my gaze on him. Our eyes lock, and I swear he moves forward slightly, even if only by an inch. I stutter, not sure how to answer, „Of course, h-haven't we all?" I sink back into my chair slightly, gulping. His gaze is transfixed on me, his eyes slim. It's like he is looking at me like I am his next prey, a cheetah staring at a lost bird.
He only nods, „Yeah, I know I have."
Smiling, his gaze flickers.
I jump, the bed sheets around me being sent into the air.
I breath heavily, regaining my surroundings. Realizing it was.. just a dream, I let out a sigh of relief. Why in the absolute hell am I dreaming about this kind of shit? Literally, am I getting so lonely that I am fantasizing about robots? God forbid I am going to have a dream about being married to Hank.
Wiping the couple of beads of sweat off of my forehead, I collapse back into my mattress. I twist my head so my nose is digging into the pillow, and I scream into it.
Getting dressed for the day, I put on a comfy sweatshirt and some leggings. Hopefully, today will be an easy day. Considering last nights events, I am NOT going to do piles of work.
Hank went to the emergency room last night, and he is perfectly fine. Old man was being extra as always, and even though there was a lot of blood, the cut wasn't deep. He went home this morning, and will be at work today.
Stepping outside, I see Ruby with a flat tire.
She sags, looking dead. I practically throw a fit standing there, on the sidewalk, but I manage to piece myself together and call a cab. I really, REALLY need to get a new car. A self driving one, preferably. I think I am one of the only people left in America with a manual driving car. Putting that all aside, I lean against the hood of Ruby and wait for the cab to pull up.
It starts drizzling with rain. A wonderful, beautiful start to my day isn't it?
I arrive at work an hour late, my mind ready to burst at the seams. The morning has been rough, and I realize it will only get worse.
Connor and Hank are talking, their faces serious. They lean against my desk, clearly impatient and waiting for my arrival. I speedwalk to them, my small legs getting more workout then they have this entire year. I feel my hair brisk past my face, my sweater sagging down around my back. Once I am a few feet away from them, they finally see me coming.
„For fucks sake, took you long enough."
I roll my eyes at Hank, „You know damn well you arrive late almost every day." Connors eyes linger elsewhere, „Yes Officer, but today we have a special guest."
