11. "He ate my food!"

Yesterday, Cheng Yun only slaughtered a duck, and he didn't expect Liu Wen to come so quickly. He couldn't make a new one immediately. They couldn't eat the Five-Cup Duck today, but he made some duck necks and smashed cucumbers. If time allows, he could stir-fry some duck intestines.

When the corn porridge was served, he noticed Liu Wen's face changed, obviously dissatisfied that he had come all the way to only eat porridge. However, Cheng Yun pretended not to see it and greeted him as usual.

"I ate too much last night, so I didn't make a rich lunch. Let's have some plain food to fill our stomachs first. But I also made some dishes to go with the porridge. You can try them later." Cheng Yun smiled and said, completely ignoring Liu Wen's dissatisfaction.

He went to the kitchen and brought out the prepared duck necks and smashed cucumbers. As soon as he put them on the table, Liu Wen's expression changed again.

"What's this?" He hurriedly asked, his eyes following the plate, "This... is duck neck?"

Liu Wen looked at the duck necks in the plate, cut into half the size of a thumb, with a layer of red chili oil on top, and the color was dark and shiny. A few chili seeds were dotted on top, and the fragrance of spices such as cumin, Sichuan pepper, star anise, and cinnamon wafted over. Although it was such an inconspicuous ingredient, it unexpectedly made people salivate.

He couldn't help swallowing his saliva and couldn't take his eyes off it. When he saw the smashed cucumbers next to it, it was another surprise.

Cheng Yun handed him a pair of chopsticks and said, "These two dishes are called 'spicy duck neck' and 'smashed cucumbers.' They are made with ordinary ingredients, but with some new methods. "Would you like to try and give some feedback?"

As soon as Cheng Yun finished speaking, Liu Wen couldn't help but reach out to pick up the duck neck dish.

Although there was little meat in the mouth, it was fresh, spicy, and tender. Each piece was put into the mouth, and the meat was juicy and flavorful. It was slightly sweet at first, but it became spicier and more fragrant the more you ate. The lips and tongue were both numb from the spiciness, but he couldn't stop eating!

Liu Wen was "sahasaha" sucking and chewing while eating, he liked spicy food, but he rarely ate such spicy food. Although Cheng Yun thought he didn't make it too spicy, Liu Wen still felt his scalp numb and exclaimed with satisfaction.

"You, how many chili peppers did you put in this duck neck dish? Why is it so spicy and numbing?" Liu Wen said as he poured himself a cup of tea and gulped it down before pouring another one.

Cheng Yun couldn't help but laugh at his reaction, pushed the smashed cucumber in front of him, and said, "Try this? I added some vinegar to make it refreshing and help with greasiness."

As soon as Liu Wen heard it, he put down his cup, and the chopsticks that were about to go towards the duck neck dish turned towards the smashed cucumbers obediently.

With a "crunch," the crisp and refreshing cucumber went into his mouth, and the cool taste, coupled with the sour vinegar, immediately subdued the spiciness of the duck neck.

Liu Wen smacked his lips and couldn't help but grab another piece, his eyes full of surprise.

"There's vinegar, chili, garlic, peanuts, and what else...cough cough!" As he spoke, he was choked by the unnoticeable spiciness, and he grabbed a glass from the table and took a few sips, his eyes turning red from the irritation. He glared at Cheng Yun and said, "You little devil, how much spice did you put in here... cough cough... it's so spicy it's killing me."
