A Beta's Worry

The sun was just beginning to rise over Silvermoon city, casting a warm golden glow over the bustling streets below. The air was crisp and cool, filled with the sounds of birds chirping and leaves rustling in the gentle breeze. It was a beautiful day, one that seemed to promise endless possibilities and new beginnings.

Still despite all this beautiful sceneries a guy groaning and sitting at his desk, surrounded by a mountain of paperwork. He was none other than our Marcus ,the beta of the Silvermoon pack. As the beta of pack it was his sole responsibility to oversee all pack affairs and ensure the safety of his alpha and all related matter to it and doing every work alongside alpha and assisting her the best. However, lately he has been doing all the work alone.

Cause the beloved alpha had been being rebellious and neglecting all her duties, leaving him to manage the pack alone. This resulted the calm and sorted ,perfectionist ,wonderful, beta to fall in this frustrating and overwhelming situation where he's surrounded by tower of paperworks, and pile of documents lining up. Seeing all this situation,marcus couldn't help but feel a sense of annoyance and betrayal at her 'beloved' Alpha.

He shuffled through the papers, setting aside those that required Kiera signature and leaving the rest to tackle himself. As he worked, his thoughts drifted to Kiera's recent behavior. He had been receiving various reports about Kiera.

Firstly, she had been going to college alone without any security measures. She is leaving whole convoy alone or secretly sneaking out, leaving him and others to worry about her safety.
Second, she didn't informed anyone about what she's doing which she usually don't do.

Also, In these few weeks she had break her record in sneaking out, without any guards again. Which finally forced marcus to add extra guards on college campus on permanent basis.

With these all thoughts in mind, Marcus started thinking of mind-linking the shadow guard situated on campus, to inquire about kiera whereabouts and the state of the perimeter of college.

Cause again before he catch Kiera she has left early this morning too...

She had disappeared like a witch from the pack leaving everything to him. Not only this but he has also been overhearing the rumors that she was spending time with a male figure on campus, a stranger that no one in the pack knew which was suspicious in his own way.

Now, Now...

He would've not minded what she's doing under ordinary condition cause he ain't her dad, if things were normal(keyword-normal) butttt....

She's alpha of the pack. She bears some responsibilities and also this whole ordeal has been going for quite few weeks .

Now, it's too much for him to keep being in dark as it's also gnawing at his sanity. As, It's necessary to shed some light in this matter.

Also, The thought of kiera being attacked or getting in some danger while she ventures alone made Marcus's heart race, and he couldn't shake this feeling of her getting in trouble. Maybe, he's paranoid but he doesn't care cause these worrisome thought gnawed at the back of his mind.

Also, some questions which are answered the biggest one is...
Why had kiera not confided him about this whole ordeal, (her right-hand man,the childhood friend, the trusted pal, her own beta, whyyyyy) about her plans? why? It was a question that he couldn't find an answer to, as everything is firstly known to him always cause half thing she can't do by herself, and other half she needs his help to sort it out cause she's lazy enough so this ordeal only, added to his frustration.

He made up his mind and finally mindlinked the shadow guard stationed on campus, hoping to gather more information about Kiera's whereabouts and checking up on the safety and security of the state of the perimeter.
