I jumped up, dodging a blow from the Iwagakure ninja. It has been nine months since Iwagakure's surrender and Obito's death, but some ninjas still wanted to attack us for power. I ran through Kusagakure, dodging mud balls being thrown at me with Kamui. I was tasked with a squad of ANBU to stop the rebellion and rescue the civilians of the Hidden Grass. We were also joined by Kusa Shinobi, who asked for help in the first place.

We were fighting a war on two fronts, and Kirigakure has gotten extremely involved in the war recently. Kakashi, Rin, and Gai were sent on a mission to stop a large battalion.

"Fire style, Great Fireball Jutsu!" I yelled, sending a large ball of flames toward a group of Iwa ninjas. They were hit and I focused my attention on another group. A fuma shuriken flew at me, hitting my side. I pulled it out, throwing it back at the ninja who threw it at me. It hit him, although more severely, severing his head from his body. I did similar things until everything was calm, all the ninjas had died.

"Hitomi, are you all right?" An ANBU member, Neko, asked me

"Yes, I have a large wound I am bleeding out of, but I'm completely fine." I sassed, sewing the wound together on the ground. My shoulders flinched at the pain. We were a day's walk from Konoha and we had to report the mission as soon as possible, so we didn't have time for hospital stops. My vision was slightly blurry, my eyesight was slightly worse than it was three hours ago. I wrapped a bandage around the wound nonetheless, standing to walk away from Kusagakure.

A day later, we arrived in Konoha. I was the leader of this mission, strange due to my lower ranking than the rest of the squad, but I didn't pick the team, Lord Fourth picked the squad. I sent off the squad as I made my way to the Hokage tower. I knocked on the door, hearing a small 'come in' from the other side.

"Ah, Hitomi," Lord Fourth began. "How was the mission?"

"It was a success," I started, recalling the rest of the mission. "We only had three major injuries, one of them being myself. No casualties from our squad, one from the Kusa Ninja, three Civilian casualties, and the entire battalion of Iwa Ninja were killed."

"Thank you," Lord Fourth said, writing down what I said on a scroll. "Kakashi's squad is still out in Kirigakure, in case you were wondering." He had a sneaking smile on his face, teasing me. I blushed slightly. "This mission will look great on your record, I'm sure the council will promote you to ANBU in no time. You're dismissed." I bowed to Lord Fourth, leaving the room.

I got back to my house, all the piles of clothes being sorted, mixed in with some of my old clothing for a yard sale that I would do soon. I crossed off the dates of my calendar as well, it was June twenty-fourth, so I crossed off three dates. I sat on my couch, flicking the TV on, and an episode of Happy Days flickered onto the screen. I got up and changed the channel, finding a channel that played the news. Hitoshi Yoshimura's face opened on the screen, reporting news about the war.

"A squad consisting of multiple unnamed ANBU members and Hitomi Uchiha stopped an uprising of Iwagakure ninjas in Kusagakure yesterday, successfully ceasing the war on the western front. This fight consisted of only four Allied casualties, three of which were civilians. In total, enemy casualties included, there were eight-hundred-thirty casualties. No news about whether the Tsuchikage plans on surrendering, but from the Kannabi Bridge being destroyed and this current victory, hopes in Iwagakure are diminishing quickly." I smiled at the praise, standing up to prepare dinner. "We will be back after this short break for the six o'clock news."

An ad for Coca-Cola played while a popped a cup of rice into my rice cooker. "Breaking news!" Hitoshi Yoshimura's voice interrupted the ads. "We have got news from the Eastern front. A group consisting of Kakashi Hatake and Gai Maito have reported a casualty of their comrade Rin Nohara." I stopped what I was doing, going to sit back on my couch. "She was killed by Kakashi Hatake's jutsu while taking out a squad of Kirigakure ANBU. We don't know the full story, so we will have to wait until they come back from Kirigakure." I turned off the TV after he was done speaking. Kakashi killed Rin, most likely in an accident, but I needed to know the whole story.

I finished making my food when Pakkun appeared in my kitchen. "Kakashi's back and he needs you."

"In his house?" I asked. Pakkun nodded, disappearing into a cloud of smoke. I ran out of my house halfway across the village to the empty Hatake Clan grounds. I knocked on Kakashi's door. "Kakashi, please open up," I begged. I heard a sob through the door along with water from a sink. I waited for a long time, knocking aggressively, but he wouldn't open the door. So I tried to open it, but it was locked. "Pakkun, reverse summon me!" I commanded through the door. I disappeared in a cloud of smoke, reappearing in Kakashi's living room.

Kakashi was in the kitchen, scrubbing his right hand aggressively. I ran up behind him, hugging him. I had gotten taller than him again, I was now 170 and he was 167. I lowered my head into his hair, trying to pull him away from the sink before he hurt himself. "Don't," He sobbed. "I n-need to get the blood off."

"Kakashi, there isn't any blood." I forced him to look at me. "The same thing happened to me when I took my first life. It's just your brain fucking with you." I pulled his face into my shoulder, letting his tears fall into my shirt. I let out a few tears, but I had to stay strong for him. I moved Kakashi over to his couch to find a VHS tape he had. I found it, a tape labeled 'Prank on Minato-Sensei'. I popped it in the VCR, sitting next to Kakashi while his pack filled in the gaps between the couch and floor.

"Are we sure about this?" Past Kakashi muttered.

"Shh!" Rin, Obito, and I reprimanded. We were sneaking toward Minato and Kushina's room in an inn during a C-Rank mission. I was holding the camera. This was in 1971, so we were nine and ten years old. Rin forced a card between the lock of the door and the wall, moving it in a way that allowed it to be opened.

We snuck toward the bed our senseis were sharing, Obito and Rin uncapping markers to draw on Minato's face. We weren't doing it to Kushina, as that would be a death wish for each of us. They drew Uzumaki spirals on his cheeks, a faux bloody nose, and some fake stitches on his chin. Obito and Rin were laughing the entire time, making Kushina wake up. She was about to yell at us for waking her, but she looked at what they were doing and burst out laughing, waking Minato.

He looked bewildered, looking between Kushina and me as I held a camera. "Run," I said, forcing the others out of the room ahead of me.

The nostalgia was cut off by a knock on Kakashi's door. I got up and opened it. Minato and Kushina were standing there, holding food in containers. I let them in, helping them set the table. I made Kakashi get up from the couch, forcing him to eat something. We sat in comfortable silence, listening to the VHS tapes of team moments that Team Minato had.

Minato and Kushina left eventually, leaving us alone again. Kakashi pulled me into his chest, wrapping his arms around my muscular frame. We passed out around 3:00, exhaustion fading into our bodies.
