SIXTY - THREE: horsies

"when are you coming back?" liam asked.

"i'm not exactly sure, it could be months, it could be weeks." i shrugged as i placed my belongings into the cardboard box.

"eliza is shitting her pants cause you're leaving." indra walked in to help me pack. "what department are you going to be in when you're back?"

"no idea." i shrugged. "i'll talk to eliza on my way out."

"so you're headed to london tomorrow?"

"yeah, i wanna go check out the flat there and decide what i'm going to do with it. and drew might join me there after, i don't know when i'm going to be back." i packed the last item and closed the box.

indra and i talked for a little bit more before i announced that i'm going to eliza's office and i'll be back to say goodbye. i knocked on her door and let her know it was me, she told me to come in. i entered the office my head held up high. "i just packed my stuff, i'll be leaving soon." i let her know.

"okay." she nodded.

"i will be returning sometime in the future, in a different position of course." i said. "and eliza, you're not getting fired. you were a good boss for a while, it would be a shame to see you go and it wouldn't be right." i sighed and walked out.

in my head i wanted that conversation to go way differently. i wanted to see the look on her face when i told her i was going to be her boss the next time i see her after i make her believe she was going to be fired. i wanted to have fun, but i guess i don't have that in me.

"you're leaving now?" emi's smile fell. "but there are two hours of work left." she pointed at the clock.

"i have to go home and pack my bag." i pouted and gave her a hug. "i won't be gone for good."

"that's the only thing stopping me from shedding tears right now." she chuckled.

"indra the day has finally come, me hugging you properly for the first time." i had an evil grin on my face and hugged her. it was like hugging a rock, "see i know you give good hugs when you want to, it's a fact. why are you being like this?" i pulled away.

"you don't need me to comfort you anymore and it's stupid, i'm going to see you again soon." she rolled her eyes.

"so you're not going to miss my annoying ass just a little bit?" i raised a brow.

"i'm definitely not going to miss you ripping me out of my office to print some papers for you."

"that translates to she's definitely going to miss you she's just uncomfortable with sharing those feelings." emi shut her up.

i turned to liam, "i'll help you out." he said taking one of the two boxes and walking out of the office. we both walked over to my car and placed the boxes in the trunk.

"don't cry yourself to sleep today." i nudged him.

"i won't." her rubbed his arm. "just gonna miss you being there, and not just because i have a crush on you, but also cause you're the glue of the group. without you i'm just third wheeling those two." he sighed i frustration.
