"why do you want to die Hazel? why can't you live?" he asked angrily this time. And I couldn't hold myself, " because I'm tired, I'm tired of predenting to be strong, I'm tired of living Aiden, I tried, I tried to find reason to live but I failed at...
Glancing out of the balcony has now become my favorite pastime in this house. After making a deal with Aiden today, this is the best place to gather all my thoughts. I do not know which turn my life has taken. I do not know how this all will end. However, something I know is that this time I will not give up without a fight, this time I will not run away. THIS TIME I WILL END THIS ALL FOR FOREVER. I promise you Jennet.
I did not realize it was over an hour and I was still glancing over the setting sun and the shadows that were changing shapes. I should go downstairs and gather all information I could. I still do not know whom should I believe here.
I went downstairs to the kitchen and as expected, I found Anna there, cooking. "Hey, what are you cooking?" I ask her. "Oh! Dear, I am baking bread. Do you want something to eat? She said, surprised to see me. "No, I am not hungry right now but I'll wait for the bread" I said and she smiled. "Which bread are you baking?" I asked. "I am baking my special banana bread. Aiden and terry loves it. You know what, they use to fight for the last piece when they were kids," she said chuckling on the memories. I too remember the memories of my grandmother, she use to bake me banana bread but now all I have is her sweet memories and the recipe. "How long have you been working her?" I ask her while sitting on one of the clean countertop to listen carefully; she started "I have been working here since I was 35 years old. I used to work for Aiden's uncle. He is a kind man to let an old poor woman like me to work here. I worked around 10 years for him then one day he brought 11 years old Aiden and 10 years old terry to home. Aiden is her sister's son and terry was Aiden's best friend, both the boys grew up with him. I do not know about their parents but I heard that Aiden's parents died in a car accident. I got the duty for taking care of the boys ever since. I had seen both the boys growing up. Aiden was a quiet and silent child but terry was rather naughty one" she competed and came back to present from her memories. Suddenly the oven bell rang. "Oh! I just forget about the bread" she jumped towards oven and opened it. The whole kitchen filled with mouthwatering fragrance of bread. "I can't wait to eat," I said in amusement. "Just wait a second dear," she said while cutting the bread into pieces and putting one of them in a plate. "Here you go" she handed me the plate. I took a hot bite and a tear escaped from my eye, "it tastes the same as the one my grandmother used to bake" I told her she smile, "I am happy you liked it.
I do not know what magic Anna does on me but I just could not pretend my feeling in front of her.
As Anna and I were talking more about her, I saw Aiden, terry and one another man rushing outside. "We will come late tonight, Anna" he shouted without glancing over us and walked out of the house. I felt a strange weird feeling in my heart, a feeling of worry. May be I am thinking too much and becoming an emotional fool again, I cannot let that happen again. No.
After eating and talking with Anna more than necessary, I walked toward my room. However, before going back to my safe place I thought of exploring this house, as Aiden was not here tonight.
Roaming from one room to another, I landed in front of a beautiful room. I opened the door and found books, lined up in shelves. It was like a small library. I entered in it; it has a large variety of books, from murder mystery to horror thriller. Three big shelves were full of books. I walked more inside the room and found out it was actually a study room, huge wooden study table in middle with some piles of papers dumped on it. There was a big window with sitting arrangement and a very beautiful view to garden. I think I found another safe place, I thought to myself. However, I do not have time to waste so I stared searching for something in the piles of paper.
After around an hour of searching, I found nothing. I was feeling really tired, so I grabbed a book from one of the shelves and sat near the window.
