Dmitry Volkov accepting my invitation was the only thing that scratched opened my scars yet gave me a sense of relief.

I still remember the way he smiled at my parent's coffin. The man who stole my childhood was coming face to face with me. It was both relieving and painful.
Relieving because little did he know that his end would be in front of him but painful because my hands were tied tonight.

I don't want to give him an easy death.
I want him to suffer like I suffered for fourteen years.
I will make him pay for every fucking second but not tonight. I have bigger plans for him

"You gave me a heart attack when you said you were going to crack a deal with that asshole!" Terry shouted as he closed the door of my room which is practically our working space, bringing me back to reality.

"We will be signing a deal with him" I paused.

"His death contract!" Terry smirked.

"Is everything ready for tonight?" I asked.

"Yes! The cameras are checked, the guards are in position and the men are also ready for backup. All that is left is Dmitry to come" he said.

Tonight's mission is very important. It is the first tier of our plans.

Tonight we will plant a virus in Dmitry's phone to get all the information about the file and his major deal that will take place in only four days.

Terry and I worked on this special virus that is nearly impossible to track and once connected to a system then we have complete access to even the most hidden files. All we have to do is to somehow plant this virus in his phone.

"Why didn't you tell Hazel about our plans? She could have been helpful" Terry asked.

"I don't want to drag her or even Mary in my wars," I said. I don't want to lose anyone anymore. This is my fight, my war to win or lose.

"OUR war!" Terry pointed.

"We are in it together!" he exclaimed.

I nodded but I didn't want him to lose either. I helped him run away from his abusive father and saved his life but that doesn't mean I'll put him in danger. No! Once I get the file I will make sure everyone I love is out of L.A. Then I will deal with Dmitry.

"But keep that in mind you will not tell Hazel or Mary about the plans and once we get our hands on that file, I'll be sending them back to New York. We'll deal with Dmitry after that"

"No words. Promise!" he ensured.

"It's time let's get ready!" he brought me back to reality.

"Yes"

I took a quick shower and changed into a tuxedo.

"Am I looking fine?" Terry asked entering my room.

"Yeah," I said.

"What do you think how many girls I'll be able to impress tonight?" he asked.

"I only want you to impress Dmitry tonight" I could hear him growling upon my joke.

"Come on let's see if the girls are ready" I jerked his next words off.

I walked towards Hazel's room and Terry followed me but before I could knock she opened the door.

As she opened the door my eyes settled upon her and my heart stooped.

It didn't miss one or two beats but it fucking stopped!

My eyes locked with her brown ones, her long lashes refused to move, her lips blossomed with blood-red lipstick, and her hair curtailed on her face while hanging just above her shoulders.

Out of all the dresses I handpicked especially for her, she wore a black body con gown fitting and defining every curve of hers and the slit in the front just took away my breaths too.

She looked the same as I saw her in my dreams.

She looked like...like mine.

Mine to have.

Mine to admire.

Just mine.

"You look deadly gorgeous" Terry's words brought me back to my senses.

"Yeah... I... I mean you look beautiful" I said stumbling upon my words.

I never stumble upon my words!

I did not know if it was makeup or something else but I saw her cheeks turn pink upon my comment as she said thank you.

"Is Mary ready too?" Terry asked and Hazel shifted from her place to reveal Mary scolding one of the maids, who was curling her hair but it didn't seem to go well.

"I didn't want these curls I wanted beach wave curls!" she shouted.

"You look breathtaking" Terry teased her.

"Shut up!" she shouted at Terry, while he laughed out loud.

"It's okay Mary these too look beautiful" I tried to assure her before she could start crying.

"You are lying!" she said.

"No, these look amazing on you!" Hazel said.

"If you say so. I trust you" she mumbled.

When did they become so close?

"Okay! Take these!" I said distributing them their face masks.

"What are these for?" Hazel asked.

"This is a ball-themed party and balls are famous for their aesthetic face masks!" Terry announced.

"Come on let's go," I said as everyone wore their masks.

I extended my arm and to my surprise he held it. Tightly.

"Everything will go as I planned tonight. No mistakes" I assured my inner self.
