"I know how to fight," I said as I heard Aiden entering the washroom.
I walked straight to the washroom after the fight ended. It was hard to control all my emotions at that time; anger, sadness, mysterious happiness, and self-disgusting; all the feelings exploded like a volcano inside me. I did not want anyone to know my true self so I walked out of there.
"Are you okay? Wait; let me see your cheek!" he said ignoring my words, in a second he lifted me from the waist and settled me on the counter near the washbasin, and started inspecting the cut on my cheek. I did not realize it was bleeding until he touched it.
He took out a handkerchief from his pocket, moistened it, and started cleaning the blood on my cheek.
"I know how to fight," I said again looking at him while he was cleaning it.
'Will you tell me how, why, and when you learned it?" I asked looking directly into my eyes, "no" I whispered.
"Then shut up," he said. "Don't start what you can't finish angel" he added, removing his eyes from mine.
"I know fighting because I fought in illegal fighting clubs since I was 20," I finally said, I do not know why but I want him to know it, I want to tell him the truth but I am afraid.
I used to fight in an illegal fight club to make me strong so that I could fight for Jennet and all those girls.
I still remember the crowd shouting my name; it is one of the memories, I could not erase from my brain. I came back to my senses when I felt Aiden's eyes on me.
Before he could say something, Mary entered the washroom with a first aid box.
"I know you don't need it but still have it" she chuckled and handed the kit to Aiden, "By the way, you slayed the fight today Hazel!" she added.
"I should go and help Terry to send Danny to the hospital," she said laughing, and walked away.
Now it was Aiden and I alone again, he opened the kit and took the antiseptic on the cotton. I was still waiting for his questions but they never came. He cleaned the cut on my cheek and one near my lips, then he applied the cream and stuck a Band-Aid to it, as the cut was not too deep.
"You must be happy, Now you don't have to waste your time training me and we can work on your mission soon," I said ending the silence between us. "Yeah of course I'm on cloud nine right now!' he mocked but took my hand and started cleaning my bloodied knuckles. The blood was not mine it was of that bastard's. My knuckles only got bruises maybe because I fought after a long time. He cleaned them too.
While he was closing the kit, I stood on my feet and looked into the mirror. Just two cuts and a few bruises, it will heal in a few days. Other than this, I saw my older version staring at me. The old I, I once tried to leave in Los Angeles. However, it stayed with me and now making its way to control me again.
"Your moves and techniques are clean but they do need some brush-up," he said bringing my attention back to him. "I know, if it happened a few months ago I would not have even a slight bruise," I said confidently.
"I need to check on Danny before we go back home, so wait in the car," he said.
"Can I come to? I have some unfinished business," I said before he walked towards the door.
He thought for some second but nodded.
I followed him to a separate room, where Danny was lying on the bed. Terry and Mary were standing in a corner while a doctor was dressing Danny's broken nose and cuts. I could sense anger and embarrassment in his eyes when he saw me.
"How's he?" Aiden asked the doctor while I stood near the door.
"His nose is broken and he had some minimal fractures in his neck and waist area. I have given him some painkiller but he needs bed rest for at least 3 weeks," the doctor said. Aiden nodded.
"He was our best fighter" Terry whispered sadly over my shoulder, I did not realize when he came towards me. "You should train your fighters harder," I whispered too, he smiled.
"You fight pretty well," he said, "You fight like a battle angel," he added.
"Thank you, but hadn't seen my real fight yet," I said. I would have killed Danny if I had not felt Aiden's eyes on me earlier.
He always makes me come back to my senses.
I saw him discussing something with the doctor.
"Come on! Let us go home" Terry shouted from my back after a few minutes. "Okay let's go," Aiden said. Terry and Mary rushed out of the door and Aiden started walking towards me but I walked toward Danny and said, "Before you touch another woman without permission, remember how this whore almost killed you!" I knew Aiden heard me but I did not care, I walked out of the door, toward the parking. I was aware that those blue eyes were staring at me but I walked straight to the car.
"Here" Terry threw the keys of the car towards Aiden, "you two go, I will come with Mary," he said and drove Mary's car out of the parking.
Aiden and I were alone again with our silence. I sat in the car without any word and he revived the engine.
Maybe he was expecting me to answer his unspoken questions but I wasn't ready so he never asked and the drive back to home was silent too.
