Midges POV Dinah and I were having a somewhat normal day in this tiny town we were staying in. We were all currently having a picnic supper after the junior stargazers honorees got their awards. I was taking with Augie when a car pulled up right as Clifford jumped off a bungalow making cans go all over.
" Who is that?" Augie asked as the car parked and a girl that looked around 12 opened the door. " Why would i know." i shrugged as the girl huffed as she got out of the car. " I really don't want to do this.. can't i just stay in Utah." she spoke to the driver but loud enough for us to hear. " We talked about this already, i'm sorry hunny he wants you to spend time with her." the driver smiled at the girl sadly as she groaned. " Yea yea." waved him off as she grabbed her bag making us raise our eyebrows.
She hugged the guy as we all watched, not getting any visitors usually through the city. The driver left as she dragged her feet before stopping in front of me making me raise my eyebrow. 'Why is she in front of me..?' Augie looked at me with a raised eyebrow as i shrugged.
" Can i help you?" she rolled her eyes as she sat next to Augie. " I got forced to come and see you against my will so no you can't help." she huffed as she looked around. " What even is this place?" Augie laughed and patted her shoulder. " This kid is Asteroid City. Not much to do around here but lots of kids to make friends with!" he smiled at her.
Just then Dinah came over a smile on her face as i watched her. " What's up Hun?" i questioned as she sat beside me. " Mom is it okay if i hangout with the other Junior Stargazers?" she looked at me waiting for an answer. " Ofcourse go off an enjoy yourself but be safe!" she rolled her eyes before she spotted the girl that looked oddly familiar to me i just couldn't place why. " Who's this?" she asked.
" I'm Y/N. You're Dinah correct?" she asked as i eyes widen. 'fucking hell. Of course it's Y/N that's why she looked so familiar but why did he send her here? Where is her brother at?' i thought. " Mom how does she know my name? That's kinda weird." Dinah looked at me.
I shook my head and giggled. " No hun. Y/N is your younger sister. I've told you about her before, Remember my second husband that we stayed with?" Dinah looked at me before looking at Y/N again before it clicked who she was. " Oh! yes i remember when mom had you and your brother! Oh what was his name.." she tried thinking before Y/N let out a small laugh.
" Max. He's back home with dad though he had some kind of school thing he didn't want to miss. But dad wanted me to get out here and " spend more time with mom" so here i am." she shrugged. " Oo! You can stay with us we can share a room like we use to!" Dinah smiled making Y/N nod.
