The day was Marinette's birthday. Everyone planned a party for the girl outside her parents' patisserie and it was all going well. It was a sunny day, and the sweet aroma coming from Marinette's place wafted through the air.
You rushed forward, arms outstretched, ready for a warm embrace. You pulled the birthday girl into a tight hug, greeting her happily.
Marinette laughed joyfully and hugged you back. "Thanks, bestie!" she replied, her eyes shining with gratefulness.
But amidst the laughter and celebration, someone was not so pleased. Lila, Marinette's ultimate rival, had been watching the happy time from her bedroom window, her face twisted with jealousy and anger.
