Buffy and the Scoobies found Buffy's ex, Riley Finn holding Dawn in the middle of Sunnydale after Buffy and the Scoobies learned that Glory no longer had Dawn.
"Riley?" Buffy asked, surprised. "What are you doing back here?"
"I came back for you," Riley exclaimed.
"You came back for me?" Buffy said. "Are you sure? I'm not the same person you met earlier?"
"I love you, Buffy." Riley pledged on bended knee as Dawn and the Scoobies watched.
"I-I-I, I don't understand?" Buffy told him. "I have to think about it."
"Okay. I know I put you in an awful bind." Riley told her.
Buffy needed to take a walk. Was she supposed to save Dawn from Glory and banish her from Sunnydale? How did things get so messed up? And why was Riley really here?
But when no one was looking, Riley took off his disguise to reveal himself—it was Billy here to make Buffy pay for killing him.
