As Spike, Angel, and the Scooby gang worked to come up with a plan to bring Buffy back, the Master woke Buffy so she could do more damage in Sunny Dale.
Buffy showed up at the spot where Sunny Dale High used to stand and announced to Sunny Dale that she would rebuild a new and better Sunny Dale.
But unbeknownst to everyone, the New Sunny Dale would be controlled by the Master when he reigned as the new Supreme Leader.

The Master went to the crypt where Buffy was lying—sleeping peacefully no doubt!
"Rest my childe! For tonight we wreak havoc on Sunny Dale!" the Master spoke to a sleeping Buffy.
But Spike had left Angel and the Scoobies and made his way to the Master's lair, where he heard every word that was said.
