Biased Hatred

Those word perfectly describe what I have been feeling these past months.

I know that my hatred is unnecessary, I know that it's unwarranted, but I can't help it. How could you not hate someone who's destroyed your entire world view so casually in a single semester?

Today was the first day of our first semester, so I woke up with newfound determination to make a difference.

I know that it might look bleak for me right now... but as long as I can assist my brother, that's all that matters... I'm sure that soon enough he'll be able to eliminate those two with my help... he might not now know this yet, but his little sister will do her best to support him from the shadows...

After I finished my morning routine, I left my dorm and started walking to school.

My body felt noticeable lighter, including my mind.

Ever since we've gotten back from the cruise ship, I've set up a rigorous training routine for myself.

Usually, I only workout on rare days or weekends. But since I've come back, I've made it daily. But that's not just all, I've always started increasing the difficulty too, to accelerate my growth.

Before going to be bed every night, I study much more than I used to as well, going as far to even study material reserved for academic levels far above mine currently.

I have to make my usefulness much more apparent to everyone the only way I know... but that's not all, I also need to become much more friendly to my classmates... that will be the hardest hurdle to overcome...

Half way to school, I was spotted by someone I didn't want to meet at all right now.

Kushida: Good morning, Horikita-san! How was your break?

She walked besides me.

Should I ignore or her...? No... I need to use this opportunity to become more outgoing....

Suzune: It's been manageable... how about yours...?

As a rare display of cooperation from me, I tried conversing with my enemy.

Kushida was left surprised, for obvious reasons, not expecting me to actually throw the question back at her.

Kushida: U-uh... w-well... it's been great! I'm glad yours has been... um, manageable too, Horikita-san! So what did you do on your break?

Oh no... I can't accidentally divulge any significant information about how I've been sharpening my fangs for the past weeks...

Suzune: I've been reading books.

Crap! I forgot to ask her about what she's been up to!

Kushida: Oh, really? What books have you been reading?

Suzune: Romance novels.

Terrible lie...!

She blinked a few times, processing what I just said.

Kushida: Huuuuh-?! Really?! I didn't know you were interested in such genres!

Despite my terrible lie, she didn't think much of it.

Suzune: Well, there's lots of things you don't know about me, Kushida-san.
