Usually, Dr Jing had as few as two surgeries or as many as four or five surgeries to perform. However, this day was a rare day when he had no surgeries.

He did his rounds in the morning and attended to patients for half a day.

Then in the afternoon, after a small seminar, he was writing an academic paper on his previous research project in his office.

When Jing Qian was typing away at his computer, he received a message from a colleague saying, “Dr Jing, your girlfriend’s sickness flared up again and has been brought to the emergency department!”

This notification lit up the phone screen.

The man happened to finish typing a sentence and was drawn to the bright light of the screen. He reached out to pick up the phone and stared at it.

A flash of panic swept under his eyes, and the muscles of his arms, hidden under his white coat, instantly tensed up.

The long, slender fingers tightened its grip on the phone. It felt as if the heart in his chest was also being clenched by some invisible hand, causing him to feel pain.

Jing Qian, who had always been calm and unmoved when encountering a problem, was never able to remain calm when it came to Xiang Yi Mo.

He could not face this kind of situation calmly even though this was not the first time he had known about Xiang Yi Mo’s illness, and he was aware that it would happen many times in the future before Xiang Yi Mo’s sickness was treated.

But he just couldn’t face it calmly; he just couldn’t.

From the moment he knew that Xiang Yi Mo was critically ill, although he usually appeared indifferent and his expression was indiscernible on the outside, in reality, he had been hiding his fear of losing Xiang Yi Mo.

Every time Xiang Yi Mo fell ill, it only deepened the fear in Jing Qian’s heart, and he couldn’t help but feel disturbed.

In fact, he was not the only one.

The other two were all the same, and they were no different. They were always surprisingly consistent when it came to Xiang Yi Mo.

Jing Qian took a deep breath and hastily got up.

He walked to the emergency room with large strides. He quickly found Xiang Yi Mo in the crowd and approached her.

He then saw that the person who had brought Xiang Yi Mo was Qin Chu?

Jing Qian furrowed his brows in surprise.

He did not show any joy or anger towards Qin Chu. Instead, he only showed deep concern and eagerness for Xiang Yi Mo.

Qin Chu also saw Jing Qian and wasn’t particularly surprised.

He could think of what medical personnel had informed Jing Qian about Mo Mo. After all, it was Dr Jing’s girlfriend, as the medical staff had addressed her, who was lying here…

Isn’t that so?

Heh, Mo Mo is Jing Qian’s girlfriend. So she is also Lu Wang Chen’s and Ji Heng Yu’s girlfriend.

Now she is the girlfriend of any of the three of them. But… just not his girlfriend.

This fact, which he subconsciously ignored and did not want to think about, appeared in his mind with great clarity the moment he saw Jing Qian coming, causing him to have no choice but to face this.

In his heart, the uncomfortable feeling that had been covered up by the shock about the fact that Xiang Yi Mo was dying soon was also immediately magnified.

It was just that too much had happened on this day, and Qin Chu had a lot to digest. For a while, he hadn’t understood what kind of feelings he had for her, why he minded so much about this matter, and why he felt uncomfortable.

However, at the bottom of his heart, he was extremely jealous of each and every one of them.

Jing Qin indifferently glanced at Qin Chu.

Without saying a word, he averted his gaze and first consulted Dr Wu about the young girl’s condition. Basically, it was the same as before. But many test results still hadn’t come out, so they had to wait.

He bobbed his head. Only then did he glance apathetically at the man in a suit beside him, “Anyway, Qin Chu, thank you for bringing Mo Mo here.”

Qin Chu responded with a “heh” and continued, “What are you thanking for? Isn’t that what I should have done?”

Jing Qian shook his head expressionlessly and replied, “I know your dislike for Mo Mo has grown even though this is what you feel.”

Upon hearing this, Qin Chu knitted his eyebrows, and his eyes darkened.

He subconsciously retorted, “I don’t.”
