chapter two: safe?

After I grab something to eat I head to my small office and catch up on a few things for work, having a online job has its peeks, it's nice that I get to say home but it kinda hurts my back at times. Most of it is just sending documents back and forth, and once in a while I have to print them. I wish ink cartridges weren't so expensive though
After a while I get hungry again but I'm proud of getting a good chunk of work done, I get up and go look at my sad fridge "hmmm....i should go shopping" I say out loud like a weirdo. I go change into some clean clothes pajama pants and a hoodie. I then get into my car and drove to the grocery store. I grab a cart and look around the store grabbing a few things I'd like to eat, about half way through I see someone I know, I smile realizing it's Jacob! But he looks like he's thinking really hard. I go a bit closer to the meats and catch my neighbor's attention really quickly. "Well howdy Y/n" he said smiling at me "nice seeing you so soon" I smile back "it's nice seeing you too, I'm way over do for groceries" I say he seems to calm down as he looks at me. We pause for a minute or two in our conversation, I look at the meat behind the glass, looks like Jacob is grabbing some fish fillets. "You like sea food?" I ask so it's not so awkward he blushes a little bit "I LOVE sea food" he said "Ive been in the mood for salmon lately" he fidgets in his spit for a moment. "Hey uh," He starts again "I plan on cooking the salmon tonight and I was wonderin'... Maybe you wanna come over for dinner?" He asked shyly smiling, that smile makes me melt. "I cook so much that I always have leftovers, so it'd be nice to share this with someone else.." He continues "you can join me for movie night too while we eat together." This man is offering dinner AND a movie? Honestly, Ill take it. Now I don't have to cook for myself tonight! And he seems like a nice guy, I wouldn't mind getting to know him more. "Sure I'd love too!" He smiles again gently holding the fish "That's great! How does 6:00 pm sound? I'll be sure to have the salmon done before you get here." Jacob said, I smile again "cool! See you tonight!" I say waving at him and went to go pay for my groceries, pack them into my car and drive home, I hum listening to the radio something about a missing person. Soon I get home put all my stuff in the house and get myself ready for my..... Date hehe... After showering and putting on some actual clothes. I do my hair and watch something on my TV. A little bit later I look at the clock and smile heading over to Jacob's place. I stand in front of my neighbor's bungalow "awww... He has a pumpkin witch" I say seeing a small pumpkin wearing a witch's hat I gently knock on the door and smile again. I hear some clicking and budging until... "Y/n? Please, come in!" He held the door open for me, I smile at him "Make yourself at home, get cozy on the couch if you'd like." He said I look around the small living room. His modern TV sticks out from the rustic appearance of everything else. Oh shit a fish tank! "I know I said the salmon was gonna be done before you get here, but I ended up forgetting one of the ingredients  so I had to make an extra trip back to the store." "Damn, much of been pretty annoying" I said looking at him "yeah, but it was worth it. I wanted to make sure everything was perfect..." He looks deep into my eyes "... For you." He said in a deep voice making me blush insanely deep before I can say anything the kitchen timer went off. The aroma of cooked fish filled the room. "It's just about done now! let me set up our plates" he said walking to the kitchen and took the salmon from the oven. I sit on the couch and wait for him, the aroma is even stronger now and my stomach growls in response. I gently cover my stomach and giggle. "heh heh, SOMEONE'S hungry! I can hear you all the way from here!" Jacob said as he walked over to me and gently handed me my plate "thanks Jacob." I say smiling at him, my food looks like it came straight out of one of those fancy magazines. It looks real good, But the REAL question is doe it TASTE good? I cut a bit off and take a bite

I look at Jacob and smile even more "Jacob, this is delicious! This tastes even better then fish I've had at restaurants!" I say seeing him blush again and smile back "Really!? That's sweet of you to say, Y/n. I knew making that extra trip was worth it." He said proud of himself "now let me go start the movie." He grabbed his remote and picked the movie he talked about from this morning. We both focus on the screen as we eat our dinner together. This is 'Revenge Of The Jackalopes' the movie did have the cheesy acting as I expected, but i found it more charming than out right bad. We finished our dinner pretty early into the movie, but at least I can give my full attention on the plot now. From what I'm understanding, the jackalopes are tired of being hunted and experimented on, and now they're rampaging the midwest. Oh wow, a guy got his eyes gouged out by a pair of antlers. While I was staring at the screen, I feel weight shifting behind me, then something grazing against the back of my head. I feel warm in the face seeing Jacob wrapped an arm on the top of the couch. His hand on my shoulder, did be forget I was here or did he do this on purpose? I stay still kinda enjoying this, a few seconds later he starts rubbing my shoulder in a circular motion, it felt really nice.... I haven't felt like this in so long...
I felt myself zoning out towards the end of the movie and my eyes were trying their hardest to stay open. Huh... I don't think it's the time I go to bed but yet... "Tired?" Jacob asked looking at me with his green eyes starting into my (e/c) eyes. I nod "yea...." I gently lay my head on his shoulder smiling a bit feeling safer, he gently wraps his arm completely around me. I nuzzle my head against his shoulder blushing more, he's so warm... Before I past out I hear him say
"Sleep well, sunshine"
