And it's here. The first day of my Second Year.

I put on a freshly washed and ironed uniform, and readied myself to head to my class, Class C. A class consisting of seven elite students, three of whom joined just two days ago.

I locked my door behind me and headed downstairs, where I found Chiaki already ready and waiting for me. She smiled brightly at my direction, before holding my hand tightly.

"So, new year huh?"

"Uh-huh," I replied. "We're second years now."

"It doesn't really feel like much has changed," Chiaki sweatdropped. "Does it really feel like we're second years now?"

"I mean, what is there to feel?" I asked genuinely. "It's not like there's a switch in our brain that goes off and says, 'Hey, idiot. You're in second year now. '"

Chiaki let out a cute laugh. "No dummy, of course not! It's just that you'd expect a feeling of being a senior now."

"Meh."

I looked ahead, and noticed quite a few first years going towards the academic block. Chiaki also seemed to be interested in the new juniors, and she was eyeing them with a happy smile.

"So many juniors....."

"Indeed. They must be quite excited, seeing that it's their first day of high school."

"And they don't know anything about the Point System either....." Chiaki shuddered. "They're going to have the grand reveal a month later, just like us."

"Yup, that's likely."

"And here they are, jumping and frolicking, not aware in the slightest that they're going to be at each other's throats from next month. Speaking from genuine personal experience.

And now, even you're gone from the class....." Chiaki muttered sadly. "It pisses me off. It really pisses me off."

She held my hand tighter, without any intention of letting go. I let out a frustrated sigh.

"We've got to play with the cards that we're dealt, Chiaki."

"I know that. I'm just cursing the dealer," Chiaki retorted. "Just, why?! I mean, what even was the point of doing something like that!? What even was the point of making a Class S?!"

Chiaki seemed to be taking out all the frustrations that she had towards the school system today. Of course, I was in no hurry to stop her. I was enjoying this.

"Ugh, stupid management..... I hope they all fall into a well and die....."

I chuckled lightly. "You're still pissed at them?"

"Of course! And I'll remain pissed at them for a while," Chiaki grumbled. "No one dares take my boyfriend away from me. No one."

"Woah, someone needs a chill pill."

The rest of the walk passed by in amicable banter. The two of us reached the academic building, and we parted ways at the stairwell, with Chiaki heading towards Class D. I, on the other hand, climbed up another floor to my Class C.

It seemed everyone was already in class. I was the last person to walk in.

Six people inside the class. And the first person to notice me walk in was none other than Masayoshi Hashimoto. He waved at me.

"Takeyama-kun!"

"Hashimoto-kun," I replied, and took my seat next to his, and with Ryuuen to my right. "It's a pleasant surprise."
