[ 16th May, Monday || Keisuke Takeyama POV ]

I split up from Ichinose and Ryuuen at the crossroads, citing the need to return to my locker to retrieve a book I forgot. I jogged down the way I had come, and once I had confirmed that I was out of prying eyes, I took a quick 180 and entered the Administrative Building next to the Special Building.

It's actually scary that I've been here so many times. Most students in this school will graduate without ever seeing what the interior of the Administrative Building looks like. After all, you never need to come here unless you've done something wrong or are called for disciplinary action, or are involved in some third party problems like I am. Nevertheless, it's strange that I've been in here more times than I can count.

I climbed up to the third floor, and I knocked on the Assistant Director's door. After a few seconds, the door opened, revealing a man in a suit.

"Takeyama, I'm surprised you came," Tsukishiro said. "I thought you chickened out."

"Is Ayanokoji-sensei here?" I asked, completely ignoring his obvious taunts. Tsukishiro shrugged.

"Sensei has gone out for a bit. He will be here in about 10 minutes or so. You can wait for him inside."

I nodded in return, and entered the Assistant Director's office. I'd been here only about 3 days back, when I met Ayanokoji-sensei for the first time. Tsukishiro closed the door behind me, and he walked over to his desk, and took a seat behind it. I crashed down onto the divan.

"So, did you take it?"

I turned to look at Tsukishiro, who had his eyes on me. "Did you take the steroids?"

"Do I really need to answer you?"

"That's the courteous thing to do," Tsukishiro remarked with a smirk. "But alas, courtesy isn't exactly your strong suit."

"I'm not courteous to you," I emphasized. "I'm actually known for being quite a charmer in my grade."

"This and that are different, don't you think?" Tsukishiro replied. "When you speak to someone who's older and wiser than you, you ought to show them some respect. Like me."

"I'll agree with the elder part. Wiser.... not too sure," I replied, to which Tsukishiro only chuckled. "I respect only those who respect me. I'm not the kind of guy to respect anyone just because they're elder to me."

"So you reject tradition?"

"I reject unnecessary tradition. There's a key difference that people fail to see here. I'm all for preserving our values and culture. But there's no point in preserving culture that doesn't do us good in the long run."

Tsukishiro only hummed in response to my statement. It seemed that for now, I had managed to avoid the question regarding the steroids with Tsukishiro around. He knows that he did not get an answer to his question, but I doubt that he will ask again. He knows that I won't budge.

Instead, I leaned back into the divan, and let out a sigh. I turned to stare at the clock in the room. It had been 3 minutes since I had come in.

Just then, the door to the office opened silently, and Ayanokoji-sensei walked into the room with an indescribable aura. He did not even knock - it was some sort of testament to his authority here.

Ayanokoji-sensei's eyes turned to look at me, and he let out an irritating smirk.

"Would you look at that? You actually came back."
