[ A Few Days Prior ]
"It's a good day when you ask me to meet you," I said with a smirk, as I watched Takeyama Keisuke approach me. "Makes a boring day worth going through."
"Sorry to burst your bubble, senpai. But I've called for this little rendezvous only for a selfish request of mine," he said. "Permission to go on?"
"I'm all ears."
The day had already come to an end, and the streetlights were beginning to flicker on. The cold breeze of winter was no more, and it was replaced by an allergic spring breeze. Some would say that the spring breeze is more comforting, but I disagree. It's annoying for someone like me with a pollen allergy.
"Now senpai. Can I ask for your confidence in this matter?" he started formally. "I need to ensure that I can trust you with what I'm about to ask of you."
"You make this sound intense," I replied. "What's gotten your stomach tied into knots? You've asked me for help before."
"I indeed have. But this might be a little too much for your liking."
I raised my eyebrow, for I was unable to see what kind of request Takeyama might have. "Go on."
"You see senpai, I need a list. More so, I need a list of students."
"Be more specific."
"A list of all students in the third year...."
Well, ain't that easy enough already? I don't see why he's saying it as though he's asking for a gold block or something.
".... with their private points balance."
.... oh.
"Private points balance....?" I widened my eyes in surprise. "Why the hell do you need something like that, kouhai? And from the third year, on top of that?"
"Just consider it a final favour, senpai. I will not ask you to do anything more for me if you help me out with this."
"You didn't answer my question," I said with a frown. "Why do you need it?"
Takeyama seemed to detest being asked that question, and he let out an exasperated sigh.
"It's got to do with the Council, senpai," he replied after a while. "I need it to check something against the Council records."
Council records? What could he possibly be checking that would require the field for private points?
"You're strange, kouhai. I'll give you that," I laughed. "I was ready for any favour. But now you've thrown me for a loop."
"Is it impossible, senpai?"
".... I wouldn't say so," I replied after a while of careful consideration. "But given the risk I would have to take to go through with this, I better be compensated well."
"You know you will, senpai. You have my word."
"Besides, shouldn't you be able to easily acquire a list such as that from the Council Room?"
"I don't have access," he replied. "Besides, there's no concrete list for it. There's only bits and pieces everywhere. I need a compiled list."
"Do you need one for the entire third year? Or just a few students?" I asked. "It's much easier to procure this list if you can give me a target individual."
"I have a few individuals in mind, but having the entire list will help me in the long run," Takeyama replied airily. "Besides, it should be a simple job for an influential senior such as you, isn't that right?"
