"Over All Abilities," Sakagami-sensei said. "Or in short, OAA — a metric app that measures the performance of every student by ranking them in different fields of interest."

Class S listened to Sakagami-sensei attentively as he explained a new system that had been implemented by the Board.

"So we can check our stats right now?"

"You can," Sakagami-sensei confirmed. "Download the OAA app, and login with your school credentials. You should be able to see your stats, and your current rank in the school based on those stats."

The seven of us in class immediately swiped out our mobile phones, and downloaded the app that Sakagami had introduced us to. I logged in with my credentials, and I was redirected to a page with all my stats written on it.

Academic Ability - 65 (B+)
Adaptability - 84 (A-)
Physical Ability - 93 (A)
Social Contribution - 82 (A-)
Overall - 81 (A-)

To be honest, I kind of expected these scores. Everything except Academic Ability looks fine to me. My Academic Ability score must have dropped since I skipped the final exams of the First Year. Still, maintaining 65 on 100 after missing your final exams is an achievement in itself.

"Oh, there's a ranked list here too...."

School Ranked List :

2. Keisuke Takeyama - 81 (A-)
3. Yosuke Hirata - 78 (B+)
4. Honami Ichinose - 74 (B)
5. Kikyo Kushida - 74 (B)

I scanned through the ranked list, and mentally made a note of the rankings of a few interesting individuals, such as Horikita, Ayanokoji, Ryuuen, Sakayanagi and the like.

"Would you look at that?" Ichinose hummed happily. "You're first in our year, Takeyama-kun. Congratulations."

"Thanks, Ichinose-san. But I'm not sure if this is something to be proud of."

"Of course it is," Hashimoto piped up from behind me. "It gives you an advantage in various aspects, doesn't it?"

"Depends, I guess."

I absentmindedly scrolled through the list, taking in the ranks of several other students in our year and others.

"The first years are also in the ranked list," Ryuuen whistled. "How did they get graded? There hasn't been a single exam yet, right?"

"Their academic ability has been evaluated by their scores in the Entrance Test," Sakagami confirmed. "Similarly, their Adaptability, Social Contribution and Physical Ability have all been graded with information from their middle school. All these details will change once the first examination is held.

.... speaking of which, the reason I'm here today is to give you details regarding the new Special Exam, two weeks from today."

"Oh, fuck this shit...." Ryuuen muttered under his breath. "Give me a fucking break."

"Language, Ryuuen," Sakagami-sensei continued. "There is a Special Exam scheduled in a fortnight, and you'll be pairing up with the First Years for this."

"Pairing up with the first years?" Ichinose wondered aloud, and Sakagami-sensei nodded crisply.

"Yes. You'll be giving your midterm examinations in pairs, and hence it is called the Partner Exam. Your total score in the exam will be a cumulative sum of your individual scores, scored out of 1000. There are five subjects, each for 100 marks, attempted by each student in the pair."
