"alright, people, show your schedules!" melina exclaimed to everyone around the table. it was tradition for them to sit at their usual spot and compare schedules to see which classes they had together. after matt picked everyone up, they arrived at school and checked out the breakfast options. it was peas and a grilled cheese sandwich. they all decided to skip it.

nick, slightly embarrassing himself, loudly declared, "this looks like complete ass; i'd rather eat chalk." after that, everyone left for the table, but nick stayed in line with madi so she could grab food.

behind nick, noah arlow chuckled. "what you said before was funny," he said. nick turned to him, flustered. "oh, uh, thanks," he replied, quickly turning back to face the line as his face turned red. holy shit, i made noah laugh.

madi looked up at nick with a knowing smile. "i saw that." he shook his head, pretending to be confused. "saw what?" he asked. madi laughed. "whatever you say, nick." he narrowed his eyes at her. "madi, just hurry up and get your shitty food. i can't believe you made me stand in line for nasty peas."

melina looked up as nick and madi returned to the table. "what took you so long?" izzy asked, making nick blush again. "i had to pee," madi said, covering for him. izzy nodded, not thinking anything of it.

as usual, most of their classes were separate, but everyone noticed that matt no longer had chemistry on his schedule. huge smiles spread across their faces as they looked at him. "what?" he asked, grabbing the sheet and seeing nothing wrong with it.

"your chemistry days are finally over, my friend," chris said, placing a hand on matt's shoulder. everyone cheered, causing people at nearby tables to glance over. "okay, stop," matt said, clearly embarrassed.

suddenly, nick started laughing loudly. everyone turned to him. "why are you laughing?" melina asked, raising an eyebrow. nick smirked. "see for yourself. care to join us, matt?"

both matt and melina looked down at their schedules, freezing when they saw they had sociology together as their first class in less than twenty minutes.

"what the fuck?" melina exclaimed, while matt rolled his eyes. "you've gotta be kidding me."
