I woke up with a pounding headache, wondering if I had drank my weight in alcohol or if it was only my usual headaches. I've been getting chronic migraines since as far back as I can remember.

"You good, D?" Flora questioned, braiding her pink hair as I sent two thumbs up in her direction.

I grabbed my pills from my nightstand, putting two in my hand before throwing them back and taking a swing of water. I hate having headaches.

"Fuck me, where are my glasses?" Jenny shouted, her voice booming in my ears as I closed my eyes. I rubbed my temple furiously, feeling tears threaten to fall down my face as a hand placed itself on my arm.

"D? Are you okay?"

Waterfalls started, tears pooling from my eyes as I desperately tried to stop my lips from quivering.

This is embarrassing.

"I'm sorry. I don't even know why I'm fucking crying." I said, furiously wiping my tears as Jazmine rubbed my arm gently.

"It's alright, D. We got you." She whispered lowly, as I took deep breaths to try and calm myself.

"This is so fucked. Someone slap me or sum." I asked, seeing Jenny raise her hand to slap me before Flora grabbed her wrist.

"Bloody hell, Jen! It's a form of speech, dimwit." The pink haired girl snapped as Jenny just shrugged. You can tell she grew up with brothers with the way she acts and how she's absolutely horrible with feelings.

"Jenny, babe, I love you but stop petting me like a dog." I told her while laughing loudly as my roommates followed closely behind.

Eventually we got up from the floor and proceeded to do our usual routine as if nothing happened. Those little breakdowns are quite frequent in our dormitory. Everyone has one at least three times before winter break, it can seem like a lot of crying but it usually stems from exhaustion.

"Hey, D? There's someone at the portrait for you!" Hermione shouted while banging on the front door of our dorm as we all looked at each other.

"You got a secret admirer or something?" Jazmine questioned with a shit-eating grin as I rolled my eyes before putting my Afro in a bun and tying my red silk scarf on my head. I might braid them tonight with Jazmine, we'll see how I feel.

"The only secret admirer I have is your daddy." I told her before running out of the dorm as she threw her shoe at me and cursed me in our native tongue, Afrikaans. I'm from Zambia while she's from Namibia, her speaking is better than mine since my mother taught me Bemba more.

Anyways, I made my way downstairs, almost tripping on my shoes twice if it wasn't for the wall support. I need to start tying my shoes before going down those awful stairs.

"Morning D." Neville said with a smile, waving shyly at me while I smiled back at him.

He's such a cutie.
