D.O's POV

The library's quiet embrace offered a respite from the whirlwind of speculation that had taken root on the yacht. I leaned against a bookshelf, my gaze fixed on Freen, who stood before me, an air of nonchalance in her demeanor. But I knew better – behind that facade lay a mind sharp as a blade, capable of cutting through the thickest of veils.

"Freen." I began cautiously, my tone low and confidential.

"I need to talk to you about something."

She turned her attention to me, her gaze unwavering.

"What is it, D.O?"

I took a deep breath, choosing my words with care.

"Rumors are spreading like wildfire, Freen. People are talking about you and Becky."

A ghost of a smile danced on her lips, a glimmer of amusement in her eyes.

"Ah, the scandal of the hour, I presume?"

I frowned, my concern evident.

"You're taking this rather lightly, don't you think?"

Freen's gaze held a hint of mischief as she met my eyes.

"D.O, I've learned that the best way to deal with rumors is to let them run their course."

My frustration simmered just beneath the surface.

"But what if this reaches Marco?"

Freen's expression shifted, a shadow of something more serious touching her features.

"If he finds out, so be it."

I stared at her incredulously.

"So be it? Do you realize the potential consequences?"

Freen's voice held an edge of steel as she met my gaze head-on.

"D.O, my husband sent Becky here to investigate me in the first place. If he's willing to play dirty, so am I."

My mind raced, connecting the dots that had eluded me until now.

"You've known since the beginning? About Becky's true purpose here?"

Freen nodded, her gaze distant.

"Yes, I've known. And I've been feeding her breadcrumbs, leading her to believe whatever I want her to."

My frustration boiled over, a mixture of concern and exasperation.

"But Freen, if Marco finds out that you're cheating on him with a woman, he might cancel the legalization."

Freen's lips curled into a sardonic smile.

"That's where you're wrong, D.O. Marco believes the secret lover is a man."

I blinked, stunned by her revelation.

"Wait, how did you manage that?"

Freen's eyes sparkled with a blend of mischief and triumph.

"Misleading clues, D.O. I left traces that point to a man – a tie that doesn't belong to Marco, men's perfume on my clothes, a wristwatch in our garage."

I shook my head in disbelief.

"You've been playing a dangerous game, Freen."

She shrugged, her confidence unwavering.
