"i wish i could hate him" is a story about the summer before senior year for 17-year-old olive peterson and her friends. she is good friends with a boy named nick sturniolo and his brothers. throughout the last few weeks of junior year, things get confusing, and an unwanted hatred between olive and nick's brother, matt, grow unexpectedly. this, however, doesn't change one thing about olive's friendship with nick, although olive's best friend, lola says drop them all. unfortunately for olive, she finds lola's real side of her and things go downhill fast. olive doesn't have many friends and knows how much she would be losing if she unfriended the triplets. so, if tolerating matt and his dumb ass actions holds nick and olive's bond, it's what she is willing to do.
