They have to stop Texas from getting independent.

Before it's too late.

Mexico and Spain were in the car, trying to hide from Texas and D.C. if they ever come out. They weren't going to come out for a while, but they knew they could come out at anytime.

"How long do you think they'll stay there, Mex?" Spain asked.
"Ah, buena pregunta," (translation: good question) Mexico sighed. "Maybe another day or two. I don't know."
"Wait.. where the fuck are we?"
"España, we're here. I don't think you want to stay in here any longer."
"We should registrarse, conseguir una habitación, you know?" (translation: check in, get a room)

Mexico agreed, and got out of the car with Spain. All of a sudden, Mexico heard his phone ring and started to answer.

"Hola?"
"Hey Mexico, whatcha doing?"
"Just looking for Texas. He's staying with me."
"I see, don't you need to go to the-"
"Yes, yes, the meetings, I know, okay? So does Spain. We have everything in control."
"Good. Maybe I'll see you in an hour?"
"Okay."

Mexico hung up, starting to walk towards the hotel with Spain.

Meanwhile, D.C. was looking up some things about the verification place.

"Hm, opens back up tomorrow?" D.C. mumbled to themselves. "That's exciting, but I'm not sure if I should tell him that I can't help him anymore.." D.C. turned off their phone, trying to wake up Texas.

"Hey, wake up, it's-"
"What? I was already awake!"
"No you weren't.. come on now," D.C. cleared their throat. "Someone's looking for you, and I really don't want you to panic, but it's important."
"Wait.. what!?"

Texas sighed, getting up. He was shocked when he heard D.C. say that someone was looking for him. Impossible! How would they ever do such a thing? He'll never know. Nobody will ever know. Besides, it's all he'll ever need!

Or is it really..?

The sun shined in the sky as if someone wished to be blinded. Texas didn't want to be in this warm ass city for any longer. Nearby, D.C. was on the phone with someone.

"Oh it's not coming until Tuesday?"

"I see..."

"Okay. Thank you."

D.C. put their phone in their pocket, rushing over to Texas.

"Oh Texas, There's finally a way to get to the verification place by the highway, but they won't be done until Tuesday.." D.C. looked at their phone for just one moment, then put it away once again. "Looks like we'll be here for a longer time than we thought.."

........................................

Meanwhile, Mexico and Spain were listening to the nearby conversation, trying to only spy on Texas, not D.C.

"Tuesday? You've got to be kidding me.." Spain said, rolling her eyes.
"We aren't even going to follow him to that place." Mexico responded, turning on Texas' location on his phone. "They'll never know anyway."
"If you say so." Spain began to call Portugal.
"España, Portugal has nothing do with this!" Mexico tried to stop his sister from calling someone that had nothing to do with this.
"Maybe you're right, bien entonces." (translation: fine then.) Spain turned off her phone and put it away.

"Wait.. let's just stay right here and see what's happening! We could just stay here until Tuesday when they leave!" Mexico exclaimed.
"Wasn't that what we are going to do?" Spain asked surprisingly.
"Si, but this time, it'll be even better."

Mexico grabbed a drone out of his backpack and turned it on. He walked outside, trying to find the hotel room Texas had claimed. Eventually, he found the room and sent the drone up there. He ran back in the car before anyone could notice he was there.

"Do you think we should get a room?" Spain asked.
"Didn't you already do that?" Mexico replied, confused.
"Yes, but your phone rang and I got distracted.."
"Oh yes, lo lamento.." (translation: im sorry)
"No, no, it's okay!" Spain looked at the drone for a couple moments, then back at Mexico. "How are you gonna know that it's watching?"
"Don't worry hermana, I have the drone app!"

Mexico sent her the video that the drone was recording, starting to stay more focused on the drone than anything else. He grinned, trying to get a good view of what Texas was doing, but trying not to be seen. Little did he know, they would be caught soon enough..

Meanwhile, Texas was trying to get used to the few sheets of paperwork he needed to complete in order to become independent. D.C. was by his side, trying to correcting on this things that he got wrong.

"Alright.. now that's complete.." Texas interrupted D.C. before they could do anything else.
"There's no more paperwork??"
D.C. sighed. "No, you still have to do one more. Here." They gave him another sheet of paperwork. "Now get to work, Ame's calling me." They walked away and started to call America as Texas did the paperwork.

"Hey sir."
"How are you, D.C.?"
"Doing good, thank you. How's it going for you?"
"Good as well. Is Texas doing the paperwork, like I asked him to?"
"Yes, sir. He's on the last one."
"Good. By the way, can you tell him the verification place is opening tomorrow?"
"I already told him, but the new way there isn't finished until Tuesday."
"Oh, ok. Talk to you later?"
"Sure, but I have to go back soon. UN won't let me help Texas any further."

Not helping any further?

Texas overheard the call, and decided to eavesdrop once more. He didn't want D.C. to leave. He thought they could always trust them, but not anymore, not as he thought anyway. Eventually, Texas finished the paperwork and put it away. He didn't want to have to be on his own from now on. However, independence is all he'll ever need, right? He doesn't need D.C. anymore! What happened to the future?

Texas stopped worrying about it, letting it go. He wasn't worried about it anyway! He thought he wasn't, for now. He was still worried about being on his own for the next couple days. It's only a couple days, it's not like it'll be forever! Or maybe it is forever. All he has to do is forget all of the things Mexico was doing to stop him.

D.C. looked at the door leading to the hallway as he grabbed his bag. He looked back at Texas, who was making sure the cities were okay. Luckily, they were okay. He never noticed D.C. trying to sneak out.

Even after knowing that something was wrong.

Just because something was..
