Chapter #23 - Open up Your Eyes

Yugo's eyes were wide.

'Surely he was joking, right?

Why does he go by a codename?

The only thing he has is a name?

I thought Colcourtay was his last name...

The last I'll hear of him?

I won't see him...

WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN??'

Ralocolcourtay sighed and summoned his sword.

"Dear Yugo, I can hear your thoughts in this place. Every. Single. One. We are in my laboratory after all. Don't act like I'm a stranger just because you've been lied to," he told Yugo through gritted teeth. Yugo sat up to acknowledge him.

Ralocolcourtay walked up to him slowly and picked him up by his neck (like Adamai with Tristépin) and sighed.

"It's time you learned your lesson. You need to understand to not count on anyone else

I hoped for your friendship, my own place, a life I control, freedom..."

He paused as a tear ran down his cheek.

"A place in the Citizenship...

But these are just the childish wishes

Of the one who I consider bound by sight."

He was full of tears. He set down Yugo for a brief second before kicking him to the other side of the room.

"But I? I am not that one...

I am not Ralocolcourtay..."

Yugo tried to use his arm to push himself back onto his feet. Ralo looked down at him as if he were a pitiful Tofu.

"I am Coilcarairanmieianzenmarlei!" He shouted, cutting a gash into Yugo's arm. Yugo took a second to recognize the Draconic name but took only a quick note of it.

Coilcarairanmieianzenmarlei took him in his arms as if he were carrying a soldier from a battle. Yugo closed his eyes. Why did everything hurt?

Coilcarairanmieianzenmarlei chuckled to himself.

"Look upon your pathetic land.

Don't you see what I'll do to you?"

Coilcarairanmieianzenmarlei set him down and kept him on his feet by holding his shoulders.

"Open up your eyes," he whispered. Yugo hesitantly blinked as he looked over Elger Nouvelle. Flames. Smoke. Rage. Spilt Wakfu.

'Why!!' Yugo's screamed in his head.

"Open up your eyes, Yugo," he whispered again.

Yugo looked left and right. Was he on a cliff? Maybe Mount Zinit...

He felt numb at the sight.

"Open up your eyes," Coilcarairanmieianzenmarlei more aggressively said.

Yugo looked up to the sky. Midday already...

He felt his heart beat wildly. It hurt the most. His breathing was taken short.

"Yugo~"

The second time his name was called, he panicked. He forgot all his observations in less than a wing beat.

"Why can't you open up your eyes?" Coilcarairanmieianzenmarlei asked playfully. Yugo realized that he was viewing the world through his Wakfu vision powers.

He tried to open them.

Once...

Twice...

He felt like there were weights pulling his eyelids down.

"Just open up your eyes."

The thought was once again a threatening whisper. Yugo tried to take a deep breath in.

A third time...

They opened slowly before shooting wide at the view before him.

Was he shaking?

The words returned.
