Lost Words

In the depths of my mind, there lies
A treasure trove of words and rhymes
That once were bright and full of life
But now are lost in the sands of time

Unclaimed verses, orphaned lines
Abandoned stanzas, left behind
They whisper to me in the night
Begging to be heard, to see the light

I search for them in every nook
In every cranny, every book
But they elude me, slip away
Like ghosts that haunt me night and day

And yet I know they still exist
These words that I have sorely missed
For they are part of who I am
And I will find them, if I can

So I will keep on searching still
Through valleys deep and mountains chill
Until I find those lost words again
And bring them back to life, my friend.
