Orphaned Lines

In the quiet of the night,
The stars twinkle so bright,
A lonely heart beats in fright,
As it yearns for love's light.

The moon casts a silver glow,
On the path where the lost souls go,
Aching for a love they used to know,
But now, they wander to and fro.

The wind whispers a mournful tune,
As it carries the pain of love's ruin,
A heart left shattered all too soon,
Leaves behind an orphaned line, a love undone.
