NANAMIN DAYS /Nanami x Reader/ [COMPLETE]

7. Days without Nanami get dull ✧

I get the easel out in the backyard.

Maybe a little painting will take my mind off the fact that Nanami won't be home for another day.

Hachi follows me around sniffing around my paint brushes and colours.

Kuro is curled up on the chair.

I search for one of Nanami's old shirts to wear.

Painting gets messy.

Minutes later, I've put on not only Nanami's shirt but his pants as well, held up by a belt.

A tie and a pair of glasses complete the look.

Why am I doing this? This is so unlike me.

I turn to Hachi like he can read my mind and give me an answer.

But he simply tilts his head and utters a, "Borf!"

Kuro has also surprisingly joined us but remains nonchalant on the bed with an air of arrogance.

I know she'll be the first to run if Nanami comes home.

Talk about favouritism.

I sit on the edge of the bed and huff. I don't feel like painting anymore.

Maybe I should boil some tea?

My shoulders are slouched and the glasses are about to fall off my nose.

I'm too deep in a thoughtless daze that I do not hear approaching footsteps.

A silhouette stops by the door.

"..."

I look up.

"Nanaken!"

My arms rush to his side. "But you're supposed to be-"

"The trip ended early," he interrupts me softly. "I rang your phone and left a message when you didn't pick up.

I called by the entrance too but I assumed you were taking a nap because you didn't respond."

After I move away from his embrace, I see his eyes fall on my fit.

Oh no. I forgot.

I quickly remove the glasses.

Suddenly, my ears are warm and I'm tucking invisible strands of hair behind them.

"This is uh...."

My eyes fall on everywhere but his face.

Hachi is by the side wagging his tail, barking for a pat.

Kuro is brushing herself against Nanami's legs.

".. painting.. you know.... Things get messy and.... which is not to say your clothes are unimportant but... I-"

My face gets buried into his chest as he tugs me in to save me the embarassment.

"It's okay." I hear him say.

"I missed you too."
