I groan silently.

My body is cold and warm at the same time and my head is throbbing.

Hachi has come to lay at my feet and hasn't left yet.

The soles of my feet rest against his fur.

I might have to push him towards the corner or the side later.

Nanami has not gone out today to take care of me.

He occassionally changes the wet cloth on my forehead.

Kuro also joins me some time later.

She curls up by my neck.

Strangely, this brings me more comfort than discomfort.

"I guess you don't really hate me huh," I manage to whisper.

She remains silent, settling herself comfortably where she is.

Nanami walks into the room some time later with a bowl of soup.

He makes me sit up, his arms gentle and careful.

A pillow is propped behind my back and my head.

My unsteady hands rest on the blanket as the spoon is raised to my lips.

The soup makes it's way down my throat, filling up my chest like it's my lungs that takes it in rather than my gut.

This feels nice.

A tablet into my system and then I'm rested on my back again.

I wake up after a while to see Nanami still by my side, a book now in his hand.

Kuro is now in his lap but Hachi is still at the side of the bed.

I'm feeling much better now.

Nanami notices me stirring awake.

"Feeling better?" He asks me.

"Yes," I start to say, but my voice doesn't make it out of my mouth so I resort to a, "Mm".

I stretched my mouth open to get used to talking again.

Nanami closes his book and puts in on the table.

Then he fills up a glass with water and prepares to sit me up again.

"You know," my throat has found its voice again.

"I'm real glad I'm the one who is sick."

"And why is that?" Mild confusion mixed with amusement.

I drink the water he hands me.

"Because I'm terrible at taking care of the sick," I tell him. "I'll most probably panic and end up calling Haibara-san over."

Nanami simply chuckles at this.

He's too kind to agree with me.

Instead of a response to my comment, he brushes my hair back from my forehead with his hand, feeling my temperature at the same time.

Then he smiles at me.

"I'm glad you're feeling better."

"Me too. Thankyou for taking care of me."

My hand that is in his grasp receives a gentle squeeze in return.
