Chapter 26: Unexpected Visitors

Before we ended the call, Daniel pointed out that the next Grand Prix would be held in Australia, which means my brother will be here, and that I'll probably run into Lando. My brother said "Air Max" was leaving tomorrow, so they'll be here in two days. I decided to start tidying up his house, so it was nice and clean for him when he got here. However, I didn't try super hard, knowing he'd most likely want to throw a party, so It'd get trashed just as soon.

Once I was done with a few chores, I made some food and watched Drive to Survive. After all, I have to keep up with the grid's drama somehow. I went to sleep at about 10, and woke up the next morning at 7 to make my way to "work", only this time I took my brother's McLaren. When I got to the pool, I had an appointment with the trainers, so they could check on my shoulder's healing process. They decided that I'd be cleared to start doing 15 minutes worth of basic dives tomorrow. I was thrilled to hear this news, I walked out excited and told coach what the trainer had said. Eric looked over, having heard this, and gave me a supportive smile, while going back up the stairs to get to the springboard since he was still practicing some dives.

This subtle gesture was cute on his end, I appreciated it since it wasn't super obvious and no one would assume anything is going on.

Once practice was over, Eric met up with me and asked me if I wanted to go play golf with him. He told me Netflix is hosting a tournament with all their sports reality shows, so "Drive to Survive" "Break point" and "Full swing". He told me they were trying to decide if they want to invest in making a diving show, so they asked Australia's dive team to sound out some reps.

"You know I've never golfed before" "there's always a first for everything." "Plus my shoulder is still injured" "It's just an offer Bri, if you don't wanna do it don't, but I think it'll be a fun opportunity to network and hang out. Plus, if you don't agree I'll be stuck with someone annoying"

I gotta say it did sound fun, but what if Lando was there, can I really face him yet? "You know what sure I'll go with you, but you better teach me how to play golf this afternoon, so I'm not a complete mess" he nodded agreeing. After all I thought what are the chances Lando's participating there's 20 different drivers they could choose from anyways. Not to mention,"Air Max" as my brother said, won't be here till tomorrow, I doubt he'd go play golf right after a long flight.

Scheduling things out with Eric; "Meet me at the golf course at 3" "Alright, we have a lot of work ahead of us" "It's ok because we're gonna end up winning in the end anyways" "I doubt it, but I love the attitude Eric"

When I got back home, I started watching YouTube videos on golfing, and how the game works. It was 2 o'clock so I had to start getting dressed, I put on a white tennis skirt, a white polo shirt, and a white visor, all Nike of course.
I got into my brother's Aston Martin, determined to go through all his fancy cars while I stay in his place, and headed to the golf course.

Once I got there, I saw Eric ready with a golf cart and a few clubs. "Took you long enough Bri, you know being in a fast car you think you'd get here faster" "Oh shut up Eric, not my fault you got here early" "Come on Brie Cheese you know I'm just kidding" "Well I won't be for long if you keep on calling me a cheese" "Common let's get going, you have a lot to learn"

I hopped on the golf cart and he started driving to an area with few people nearby, he started by explaining the rules and teaching me proper form. However, I kept on missing when I swung, so he came up behind me, grabbing my hand and went through the motion with me. "You just gotta hit out more bee" "Did you really go from calling me cheese to an insect" "I guess I did" we went around the whole entire golf course, and I got better as we went. We ended up finishing the night off at the golf club's restaurant, where we sat down at a table and ordered food.

"You know Bri I think we have a pretty solid chance tomorrow" "Ya me too ant" "where'd you get ant from bee?" "Well if your going to call me and insect name, then you're going to get called ant your last name is close enough to the spelling" "Really creative there love"

Love, that word right there sent me back to the many memories of Lando, that was his word, it's what he'd call me. It felt weird to hear it out of someone else's mouth. I suddenly felt nostalgic, and mad at him for using it.

When we finished done eating, we headed back to the parking lot. Eric walked me to my car, or Daniel's really. When we got there we talked for a bit. Next thing I know, I'm leaning against the car, and he's towering over me again, I get on my tippy toes and gave him a kiss on the cheek, I guess it's the least thing I could do to thank him for teaching me to golf today.

"Night Bri, you're a huge flirt you know that" "Goodbye ant, I'll see you tomorrow" I shouted after him since he turned away to go to his car.

When I got home, I went to take a shower, washing all the dirt and sweat off me. I was halfway through singing, "Can't Catch Me Now" from the new Hunger games movie, when I heard something coming from the kitchen. Scared I stoped the water and wrapped a towel around myself, grabbing my phone ready to call the cops just incase, and then I saw them.

"Hey Bri, it's been a hot minute since we saw each other last. Glad to see you've gone through  almost all my cars" Daniel smirked happily

What were they doing here?
