Chapter 34: Sunshine

I downloaded a copy of my plane ticket, and went over to the kitchen to grab a snack. I was about to start munching on some chips when I heard the doorbell ring. Who could it be at this hour, I wasn't expecting anyone?

I went and looked through the peephole, I saw Heidi. I opened the door wondering what she was doing back here "Bri, hey congrats your brother told me the news" "Heidi sorry but what are you doing here?" "Helping you set up for the party?" "What party?" "Daniel's hosting a party to honor you going back to diving" "He literally never tells me anything, come on in I guess we have a party to set up for then"

We got to work, I started off by going around and locking all the rooms that were off limits, making sure to put away any expensive decorations that could brake in there. Meanwhile, Heidi was bringing in all the alcohol and snacks, getting them set up in the kitchen.

"What time did my brother say this party was supposed to start?" "10, so expect people at like 11 maybe." "What about you, what are you gonna wear?" "I mean I was just planning on wearing what I am right now" She was wearing flare leggings and tight shirt, it wasn't a terrible fit but she could do better for the party. "Did you have something else in mind?" "I mean I have this dress in my closet I think you'd look stunning in" "Now you've peaked my interest"

I showed her this mini dark blue low neck sequence dress, and she ended up loving it, it hugged her figure perfectly. I ended up wearing the same dress only in a dark maroon color, both wearing tall heels. We were about to be the hottest bitches at the party!

Then Lando and Daniel showed up here at about 9:30, already dressed and ready. The whole time Daniel and Heidi kept on shooting each other looks, me and Lando couldn't help but wonder what was going on there, are they more than just a hook up? I mean they had to be at this point, after all she showed up early to help set up the party.

When Lando and I were left alone in the room, we were both said the same thing "Do you know what's going on with Daniel and Heidi?" "No I was hoping you'd know" "Also you look really nice Bri" "You don't clean up bad yourself Norris" " You know we still have an hour at least till people show up, wanna do something in the meantime" "Like what, do you already have something in mind Lan?" "No, but what are we supposed to do for an hour, Heidi and Daniel are off making out somewhere" "Fair point, so what do you wanna do?" "Karaoke?" "Just me and you?" "Ya" "That's no fun when it's just two people though!" "You got any better ideas?" "No" "I mean we could take a shot for every song we mess up on, if that'll make it more interesting for you?" "Alright, you're on then" "Any song requests or can I pick?" "You choose love, I got this in the bag" "I wouldn't be so sure, Lando". I started playing Shakira and he already messed up, "That's a shot, if I were you I'd stop now before you go black out drunk" "Just wait till you go Bri" I stepped up and took the mic from him, he started playing Rihana. "Come on Lan, there's no way I'm gonna miss a single one of her lyrics"

Several songs later, Lando had missed every one of his, but I was yet to make a single mistake. Meanwhile people were slowly starting to show up, but we still kept on doing our little challenge. "What do you say about a duet, you and me both sing and if you mess up now it's double the shots" "Sure, you won't be able to remember tonight at this point" "I picked up a mic and joined him in front of the tv, we ended up playing "Enchanted to Meet You" by Taylor Swift.

We both started to sing jokingly at first over exaggerated the lyrics, but then it started to feel more intimate, it's like we were singing to each other and every lyric had a deeper meaning. The song was basically our love story. When the song was over, neither of us took a shot, we didn't mess up once, instead we put the mics down and went to dance together. I missed hanging out with Lando, not as a couple but just having him around.

Lando being Lando, he couldn't resist dj-ing, so I ended up going to get us more drinks while he was playing music. The house was starting to get really packed, at some point I ran into Heidi and Daniel, they were all over each other, I made a mental note to ask her later as to where their relationship stands now.

At 3 or so, we ended up kicking everyone out, by we I meant me and Lando. We started cleaning up here and there slightly, "You know I'm really happy  you're coming to England for your birthday, you'll get to meet all my close friends and I'll give you the Lando Norris exclusive tour of London" "That sounds lovely Lando" "It is, my tea is also really delicious, it'll make you forget all about your coffee obsession" "I think we cleaned enough right now, we can finish tomorrow, feel free to crash here." "Thanks Bri" "Of course Lan I wouldn't want you going out so wasted, honestly I'm surprised to see you still standing based off how much you drank." After saying that, I went to change. Only when I walked out, I saw Lando falling down onto my bed "You know we have a guest bedroom" "Ya but your bed's better" "It's the same exact mattress" "Okay fine you caught me, I just prefer being in your company" "Well you're gonna have to wait a little longer, I'll be in bed in a bit, I still need to take my makeup off" "Ok, I'll be here waiting" "Just to state I don't think this is a good idea" "Who cares at this point" he huffed then fell asleep in a matter of seconds.

When finished taking my makeup off, I kept my promise and laid down next to Lando, just like when we fell asleep in each other's arms weeks ago on the couch for the first time. Lando felt like home, he felt safe, supportive , the feeling when I'm near him is something I never want to give up, he's so sunny half the time he basically radiates joy onto me, he makes my day ten times brighter, I think I might be in love with Norris, and we aren't even dating.
