"Are you ready?" Andrei asked while he raised an eyebrow in question, and I hesitated before I slowly nodded. "Good, now put your hand over the bowl and take a deep breath. Focus on your powers and the water. Make another sliver and then try to make it into a ball."

"You're killing me here, Andrei," I grumbled, and he chuckled.

"I know," he said and nodded in confirmation before he cleared his throat and grew serious. "Now, go ahead and do it."

I held back an eye roll but did what he said and moved my hand over the bowl of water again. I took a deep breath and released it with a small whoosh while I tried to tap into my powers again.

Nothing...

I bit back an annoyed groan when I didn't feel any different or feel that bubble again.

Come on, I thought while I gritted my teeth in annoyance. Work. Don't make me look like a fool.

"Breathe, Caroline. Don't force it," Andrei warned as if he knew what I was feeling and thinking and how I was acting. "That is your biggest mistake at this moment. You can't force it to work. You have to let it work and work with it, not against it."

I held back another eye roll and took another deep breath, trying to focus on my powers and not on anything else that was around me, including Andrei.

I can do this. I know I can. I just need to breathe and concentrate on my powers and that bubble I felt before I lost my focus.

"Come on, Line," Andrei coaxed gently, his voice barely above a whisper. "Take another deep breath and relax. You can do this. You know that you can. Just focus on your powers and your emotions. Imagine the water becoming a part of you."

I bit back a small hiss in warning and waved him away while I took another deep breath before I released it with a small whoosh.

I concentrated on my powers some more, and I couldn't help but slowly start to relax and focus on solely them and nothing else again.

Something tightened in the pit of my stomach again, and it slowly released while I splayed out my hand and moved it up, closing the tip of my fingers together again, with something moving as if it was connected to an invisible string.

"Good, Caroline," Andrei praised with a sigh of relief, and I had a feeling that it meant I had lifted some water out of the bowl. "Do you want to open your eyes and see that you did it again?"

I bit back a breathless chuckle and shook my head. "Not really," I replied honestly, my voice barely above a whisper. "I don't want to lose my concentration."

Andrei chuckled amused. "Come on, Line," he teased. "Go ahead and see what you have done. You need to be able to focus while you open your eyes or have your eyes open while you do this."

I held back an eye roll and took a deep breath before I released it and opened my eyes.

Sure enough, I had a sliver of water connecting from the bowl to my hand, glistening in the light of the room.

"See?" Andrei teased, and I held back an eye roll while I stared at it, pleased with myself. "I told you so. You got this. You can do whatever you set your mind to and that means you can control water."

"Very funny, Andrei," I grumbled, my cheeks turning red, and he chuckled, amused. "Now, hush. Let me concentrate and continue to do this."

Andrei bit back a small chuckle and nodded, amused. He didn't say a word while I took a deep breath and moved my hand to the left ever so slightly, and the water followed.
