jimin's voice when he picks up is enough to tell lisa that he knows why she's called, but lisa still asks him how his day is going like the good friend that she is, ignoring jimin's unamused scoff.
"i'm okay. you can ask me the question you actually called to ask."
lisa swallows. it feels like it'll become too real when she says it. there's a heavy weight on her chest and she doesn't know if she'll find a way to lift some of it off. all her options seem to be losing ones. finally, she only asks, "have you heard?"
a moment later, jimin replies, solemn. "i have."
she means to ask jimin's opinion. she's called to ask about it. but when lisa opens her mouth, what comes out is nothing but a proof that her mind was already made up, and what she truly wants is jimin stopping her if it's a bad idea, because she doesn't have it in her to stop herself.
"i think i'm going."
jimin hums, and it's another proof. "i knew you would."
they go quiet for a while. lisa feels like she's on the verge of tears so she clenches her jaw. waits a little more.
