After our father's disappearance out of our lives things have changed. Alex would leave the house more often and hang out with his friends and I would stay at home helping my mom after she had fallen apart due to everything that has happened.
Alex would come home almost every day with this one particular boy though... Atlas. He was absolutely handsome, yes, but also a huge asshole towards me with his teasing and bantering.

Once I was 13, I had learned to make food, do laundry, clean the house and help my mom. I was always exhausted and constantly drained, Alex bringing Atlas over didn't help either since we'd always have stupid arguments that would get me heated up and make me snap. Even though he was an asshole, boy did I like him, the way he'd eye me up and down whenever we'd argue, the way he'd get all up in my face and show me who's boss... that was what I liked... but he was always an asshole despite how weak he'd get me to be.

Atlas would come over almost three times a week, I could barely breathe when he'd be around me, teasing, annoying, arguing and talking with me just made me want to punch him... there was something about him that at some points would make me weak and at some points would make me want to kill him. He was annoying, self absorbed, foolish yet so damn handsome and funny.

A little event that happened when we met:

I was at home alone one day in the kitchen making some cookie dough when Alex walks inside with Atlas coming back from the basketball court (they used to play basketball together). I immediately froze as I saw Atlas... the first time he's actually caught my eye, he looked absolutely hot. I pushed the feeling off and continued making the cookie dough though of course this boy couldn't leave me alone, could he?

I kept my eyes down on the bowl as I felt someone behind me... now not just standing behind me but full on towering behind me with one hand on my hip as he used his other to scoop up some cookie dough from me bowl. I got the butterflies. As soon as I turned around of course who could it be except Atlas... god that stupid smirk.

-"Hmm not bad, though it's not as sweet as it needs to be" (Atlas)
-"Well why don't you make it instead "Mr. Chef"(Me)
-"Nah, I prefer to watch the pretty ones do the work"

Damn it I could feel the tension grow with each second. Soon enough Alex called him upstairs and he left with that stupid grin of his. I placed my head on the counter processing what had happened... why did I get those butterflies? HE'S MY BROTHERS FRIEND! OFF BOUNDARIES
