Lillian, Coriolanus, and Clemensia discussed the proposal they had prepared for Dr. Gaul. The main points included

● Make connections with the tributes
● Better transportation for tributes (too many bat bites this year)
● Donations and sponsors
● Betting
● More time with mentors
● Training before the games

As they approached the building, Clemensia sought details on their proposal. They quickly conveyed the main points, hopeful that she could articulate her reasons if questioned about them during their meeting with Dr. Gaul.

Entering the building, Lillian sought comfort by holding Coriolanus's hand, feeling uneasy with the peculiar creatures around. They located Dr. Gaul near a giant cylinder tank, where rainbow snakes captured their attention. The unusual setting hinted at the eccentricity of the person they were about to meet.

Lillian discreetly released Coriolanus's hand, avoiding any unwanted attention. Fortunately, their subtle gesture went unnoticed by those around them, allowing them to maintain their composure as they approached Dr. Gaul.

They walked up the steps, Lillian switching to crutches to meet Dr. Gaul at the top near the opening of the snakes. Personally, Lillian hates snakes, they make her very uncomfortable.

"Which one of you wrote the proposal?" Dr. Gaul asked with a mischievous grin on her face. "Li-" Coriolanus started before Clemensia cut him off. "Coriolanus, Lillian, and I talked about it but I wrote it." She said making Lillian raise an eyebrow.

"So, that's your sweaty handwriting on that paper?" Dr. Gaul asked, the teens uncertain of where this conversation was going. "Mhm" she answered cringing that Dr. Gaul called it sweaty.

"My newest intern is a bit delulu and thought it was trash so she fed it to the snakes. Can you grab it for me? No need to worry, they're used to your smell." Dr. Gaul said with a smirk on her face. Lillian couldn't say anything, she knew Clemensia didn't touch the paper, she knew something bad would happen.

Lillian, uncomfortable around snakes, discreetly retreated behind Coriolanus as Dr. Gaul mentioned the fate of their proposal. The mischievous smirk on Dr. Gaul's face added an eerie element to the situation. Clemensia, claiming responsibility for the proposal, now faced the unusual task of retrieving the document from the snakes.

Lillian's heart raced as the unexpected sound of a bite followed by a thud echoed through the room. The suddenness of the event sent shivers down her spine. Uncertain of Clemensia's fate, Lillian's anxiety heightened, and she exchanged a worried glance with Coriolanus, both caught off guard by the unsettling turn of events.

Dr. Gaul turned to them with a sinister smile. "Oh, she's fine. Just a little nibble. Keeps my snakes fed and happy. Although, don't tell her parents about her newfound, cold. Just unnecessary worrying to leave on them. Now, about your proposal..."

The eerie atmosphere surrounding Dr. Gaul made Lillian uneasy, but she pressed on, her concern for Clemensia mingling with the unsettling surroundings

Lillian, despite finding the snake colors beautiful, maintains her dislike for them. Curious, she questions Dr. Gaul about the reason for their vibrant hues. In response, Dr. Gaul chillingly remarks, "If anyone crosses me, I can call it a rainbow of destruction." punctuating her answer with an evil laugh. The enigmatic allure of the colorful serpents takes on a more sinister undertone, hinting at the potential consequences for those who incur Dr. Gaul's displeasure.

Their meeting ended and they were meant to go home. The sky was dark, but that didn't stop the teenagers from pursuing their curiosity.

Lillian and Coriolanus, bound by shared experiences and a growing connection, ventured towards the arena. The wheels of the wheelchair rolled against the uneven pavement, carrying them through the aftermath of the recent bombing. As they approached, the remnants of destruction were visible, stark reminders of the brutality of the Hunger Games.

Together, they navigated the eerily quiet arena, exploring potential hiding spots and strategizing for the upcoming challenges. The atmosphere was heavy with the weight of the Games, but Lillian and Coriolanus faced it side by side, their bond strengthening amidst the remnants of chaos.

In the midst of their journey to the zoo, Lillian and Coriolanus found moments of joy and laughter. The simple act of Coriolanus playfully pushing the wheelchair became a source of lighthearted amusement, with occasional close calls adding a touch of adventure to their journey.

Their shared laughter echoed through the streets, momentarily overshadowing the gravity of the impending Hunger Games. In these fleeting moments, the two found solace in each other's company, embracing the camaraderie that blossomed amidst the challenges they faced.

As Lillian and Wovey discussed their strategies for the Hunger Games, Lillian offered guidance to Wovey on navigating the arena and finding safe hiding spots. The camaraderie between the mentors and tributes shone through their interactions, providing a glimmer of support in the face of the impending challenges.

Observing Coriolanus and Lucy Gray from a distance, Lillian couldn't help but notice the tenderness in their interaction. A mix of emotions crossed her face as she turned her attention back to Wovey, her attempt to downplay any romantic involvement with Coriolanus.

With a sense of duty, Lillian provided Wovey with practical items and a small pillow, knowing that their paths would soon diverge within the arena. The night pressed on, each mentor and tribute preparing for the trials that awaited them.
