Vanessa slowly opened her eyes, stretching her arms above her head as she sighed. She turned to face Madelaine, who was still peacefully sleeping beside her. Vanessa couldn't help but chuckle at the sight.

Feeling famished, Vanessa decided it was time to start the day. She gently nudged Madelaine, who groggily opened her eyes. "Mads, can you get me some food?" Vanessa asked with a mischievous smile.

Madelaine, always the nurturing friend, responded with a warm grin. "Of course, what is the little lady and the baby feeling today?" she teasingly replied, referring to Vanessa's pregnancy.

Vanessa's face lit up. "Fruit bowl and apple juice, please," she answered, her enthusiasm evident in every word.

Without further ado, Madelaine hopped out of the bed, quickly pulling on her robe. With determination in her stride, she headed towards the kitchen, eager to satisfy Vanessa's craving.

As Madelaine disappeared from view, Vanessa couldn't help but feel grateful for having such a kind and caring friend by her side.

They didn't have to work today, and Vanessa couldn't be happier. She stretched lazily in bed, contemplating what to do with her free day.  She had one request – no activities that involved walking. Just as she was lost in thought, as if reading her mind, Madelaine burst into the room, carrying a tray of delicious food.

"Here you go, ma lady," Madelaine said with a playful smile, placing the tray on Vanessa's lap.

"Why, thank you, server," Vanessa replied in a mock posh voice, enjoying their light-hearted banter. They burst out laughing, sharing a moment of pure joy. The tray was positioned just right, ensuring it didn't hit Vanessa's growing belly.

As they indulged in the scrumptious meal, Vanessa realized that it was moments like these with Madelaine that made her feel truly blessed.

Madelaine leaned on Vanessa's bed, eyeing the assortment of colorful fruits in her bowl. Unable to resist temptation, she reached out and grabbed a juicy slice, causing Vanessa to burst into laughter.

"Why didn't you get yourself some food?" Vanessa exclaimed.

Madelaine sheepishly grinned, struggling to chew the stolen fruit.

"I may have eaten a lot while I was cutting it up," she confessed, cheeks flushing with embarrassment. Vanessa playfully rolled her eyes, secretly pleased that her friend was enjoying the fruits of her labor.

"You want to go visit the river today," Madelaine said, her voice filled with excitement.

"Oo good idea, I haven't been in a long time since, you know, me and Michael," Vanessa replied, nostalgia creeping into her voice.

"Well, how about a fresh start, a fresh start for you and me," Madelaine suggested, her eyes shining with hope. "The river will symbolize our new beginning, allowing us to forget about our past. What do you think?"

Vanessa paused for a moment, considering Madelaine's words. "I think it's a great idea, Mads," she finally said, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

"But there's one problem. I didn't want to walk around today. My feet are swollen, and I'm pregnant." Vanessa admitted, feeling a tad guilty.

Madelaine's eyes lit up with a mischievous glint. "Well, how about I rent a golf cart for us? We can explore the river with ease and have a fun, and enjoy the day without worrying about your feet." she offered.

Vanessa's face brightened at the suggestion. "That sounds perfect! A new beginning and a little adventure. Let's do it!" she exclaimed, feeling a renewed sense of excitement and anticipation.
