6 weeks later

Vanessa was exhausted yet content as she cradled her newborn in her arms. The room was filled with a calming ambiance as the soft glow of the evening sun seeped through the curtains. It was feeding time. Vanessa gently cradled her baby in her arms, Vanessa began to breastfeeding her little one.

Unbeknownst to Vanessa, her friend Madelaine entered the room, drawn by the faint sound of lullabies Vanessa was singing. With a cheerful smile on her face, she approached Vanessa, intending to share some exciting news.

However, as she walked further into the room, her eyes widened in surprise. Madelaine froze in her tracks, realizing that Vanessa was breastfeeding. Vanessa's cheeks flushed slightly with embarrassment, while Madelaine quickly covered her mouth, trying to stifle a giggle. Breaking the awkwardness, she burst into laughter, Madelaine collapsing onto the nearby bed edge.

Vanessa, still holding her baby close, couldn't help but join in the laughter, knowing that these unexpected moments were what made their relationship.

Madelaine quickly realized what was happening and apologized for the intrusion. "Oh, sorry Vanessa," she said, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment from laughing.

Vanessa, however, reassured her, understanding the importance of nourishing her baby.

"Babe, it's okay," she replied with a smile. "He's hungry right now, and I don't think he's going to unlatch anytime soon."

Madelaine couldn't help but tease Vanessa, adding a playful smirk. "I wouldn't want to leave either if I were in the little man's spot," she joked.

Vanessa playfully rolled her eyes and shot back, "Shut up, Mads."

"I'm going to get him ready, we're going to visit my family," Vanessa said, adding, "You can come if you want."

Madelaine looked at her, her brows furrowing with concern. "You sure about that?" she asked. "They don't know we're dating."

Vanessa nodded, a determined smile playing on her lips. "I know, but we've been dating for six weeks but it's time they did. I don't want to hide anymore." She reached out and clasped Madelaine's hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "Besides, I love you, and I want them to see how happy you make me."

Madelaine's worries began to melt away as she looked into Vanessa's eyes, filled with love and bravery. "Okay," she whispered. "I trust you, and I love you too. Let's do it."
