To love Meerab was not a choice for Murtasim; it happened so naturally, like hemoglobin in the blood always choosing carbon dioxide over oxygen, despite knowing how bad it was for health.

**Author's Note**

Hello everyone! 🫶

I want to be upfront about a few things. First, I'm not a native English or Hindi speaker, so there may be some errors in the book. I've done my best to proofread and edit it, but I know there might still be some mistakes.
This book is far from perfect. I'm sure there are many things that could be improved, but I hope you'll enjoy the story despite its flaws. If you're willing to give this book a chance, I would really appreciate it. I'm still learning and growing as a writer, and I'm always open to feedback. But I would prefer to receive constructive criticism in a kind and respectful manner.

As Murtasim sat quietly on his balcony, watching the setting sun, he couldn't help but reflect on the morning's drama and the preparations for Mariyam's engagement at Khan Mansion. The sight of the bustling activity reminded him of his own engagement day, a day when neither Meerab nor he had been truly happy.

He had never imagined that his sister's marriage would turn out like this. He knew that Mariyam had reservations about marrying Nooraiz, but he had hoped that they would eventually find a way to make it work.

He couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness and frustration. He knew, if one person in a marriage kept trying to make it work and fell in love, while the other person simply went through the motions without truly trying, it would eventually lead to exhaustion and resentment.
