Chapter Seven: "The Hunter 'Comes The Hunted"

*Evolution is a mystery, full of changes that no one sees or notices*

7 days after the Black Wolf murder.....

Elijah had been searching for the Black Wolf since he's disappeared before his and Selena's eyes after cornering him, he was full of anger for failing to prevent Ms Stark's murder which reminded him of how he failed to save his parents when he was five. The city had an eerie feeling to it, like it was mourning the death of Ms Stark still, at least that's what it feels like to Elijah, Selena had been calling his cell but he never answers, going the vigilante path he was determined to find the Black Wolf and stop him before he kills anyone else again, Elijah had a coat on with a lifted collar, his hands in both pockets of his black coat, walking in the downpour on the sidewalk, his every step splashing the water beneath his feet, a car pulls over beside him coming from the same direction he came from and honked the horn, Elijah stops and turns to see, it was Selena, she tracked him down and has him enter the car, she proceeds to tell him how she had been worried about him and tried to call for seven days with no word, Elijah just responds with one word, calmly and casually

"I'm fine, you don't have to worry Selena"

He said as Selena didn't believe he was okay and she couldn't help but worry, she didn't want to push either, she grips the steering wheel tight with both hands and took a deep breath then exhales as Elijah noticed and squints then turned and looked out the window as the rain slid down on it, the fog above the tall buildings covering them almost, with the rumbling sounds of thunder in the background. Selena drives the car back to the precinct, they walk inside and has him sit at her desk and she'd be back, Elijah does as told and sits on the comfortable chair before him in front of Selena's desk, placing his right elbow on the surface for support and plays with the pencil that had laid there, he looks at the fridge and gets up walking to it, he reached for the handle with his left hand and pulls it open, seeing launch boxes there, one of them being the superior's launch box containing chicken, he smirked and took it then went to a private area to devour it, Selena comes out and saw he wasn't where she left him and scanned around asking her co-workers where Elijah went, she eventually finds out where he is and went to the private area, seeing Elijah laying in his back on a bunk chair staring at the ceiling seemingly lost in thought she snaps him back to reality as she complains about his habit of disappearing, Elijah smirks and sits up looking at her and asked why she brought him here to which Selena responds

"Look, I know what happened to Ms Stark has had some sort of effect on you emotionally, and knowing you Elijah, i dont want you to do something that might get you in trouble or worse.....killed"

She says with a genuine worry on her face, Elijah wanted to use his power to cut to the chase but promised Selena to never do that with her and has kept his promise for this long, Selena takes a moment and looked at him in his eyes and tells him why she brought him here

"I want you to be a consultant for the police Elijah, and that means you'll be tagging along with me while we search for the Black Wolf"

She said as Elijah squints knowing this is her way of keeping an eye on him, but he won't object to it and easily agrees to being a consultant, she smiles and appeared relieved as well as surprised by his reaction, as a gesture of good faith Elijah pulls from his pocket the sketch of the Black Wolf's face from when they saw him that night, he hands it to Selena so they could dig up on who the man is and what he could have had in common with Ms Stark. Once the facial recognition was ran the results came out as the man being named Ethan Galloway, a military individual who had been MIA for the last 12 months, Selena checks is there was any connection between him and Ms Stark and the results came back as Ms Stark was Ethan's brother's girlfriend, Ethan's brother Jackson Galloway was sentenced to 25 years in prison for allegedly raping his former girlfriend Ms Stark, Ethan knowing his brother to never being that kind of man left the military because Jackson needed him, once Ethan discovered that Ms Stark lied and proceeded to pay off the judge to keep her lie and protect her reputation, Ethan after trying to find a way to help Jackson out of prison failed and was now retaliating against those who wronged his brother.  Elijah sighs and sits down on the chair seeing this as a personal vendetta, Selena tries to get the names of people associated with the trial and was successful, she looks at their addresses but it was hard to determine who was next on the list which was where Elijah came in, Selena pulled him to a private area and asked if he could use his powers to see who Ethan would go after next, Elijah takes the paper with the list of names and looked through it and tries to see in each one's future and gets a hit, lawyer Ms Stark hired to collaborate her story was Ethan's next victim and they had just two hours before Ethan goes after him. Selena gets a team together and has them go to the address of the lawyer.
